My advice, don't trade for Duck Duck Gooze at this point as it has been unpleasantly acetic for at least a year. Isabelle Proximus is still drinking very nicely, and while probably not as good as it was fresher, it is still an A+ level American Wild Ale.

I was able to trade a Rare / Vanilla / Coffee back in the day for a bottle of Isabelle. My guess now is that someone would want Rare / Vanilla / Cherry Rye if they were going to let go of a bottle today.

    Cheers!

I traded an Isabelle Proximus for a Bourbon DL last Summer. Hope that helps.

Ya crianza, blabaer, hommage, 90s/early 2000s gueze and kriek and to an extend with small pluses new framboos, blauw, nomad etc. Obviously your not landing don q or loerik etc but with quantity its tough you just gotta catch the right person i guess.

I had a DDG this past summer and I thought it was great! I didn't find it overly acetic at all, so maybe it's a bottle to bottle thing at this point.

I traded a Rare and a BCBCS for it, but it was IP and with somebody who I traded with before, so that probably helped get it done. Good luck!

DDG has never struck me as overly acetic. It has a citric punch, certainly. I'm actually having trouble thinking of any LA blond sours that are notably acetic. Well, I can think of one but it was keg only.

Yep, to me it tastes like Shock Tarts, not vinegar.

I can confirm a case of Fou Foune didn't land the pair, so unfortunately, I think this may be correct.

That depends on how you define a case and where the case was purchased.

Cantillon cases are six bottles. At the brewery last year, that ran 42 Euros...so about $55 US.

Any Euro members care to send me a caser of Fou Foune for $55 US? I didn't think so.

Here's what I know - I bought a bottle of fou Foune in early '12 for $35. It came out of a case of 12. Since Mike and I are from the same 10 mile radius, I'm sure he also got his allotment of 1. I also know there was a 1 bottle limit. So that means he traded for the other 11 (and probably all of them, more than once). So the simple math is actually $420.00, since most often things are $4$ or close. Of course to get a Fou Foune you often have to give a premium, so I'm probably low.

As expected, you fly to emotion and ignore the reality of what does exist.

That's not the simple math. Beers like DDG and Izzy don't trade on the same value scale as other beers. You won't to play? Prepare to pay.

The fact that you ridiculously overpay for and overvalue a beer doesn't mean everyone does.

Of course, I'd never offer a trade for 6 to 1 much less 12 to 1. That's just silly.

He offered a case of 6 for two bottles so my math says 3:1.
If anyone wants to trade 12 fou founes for an Izzy then hit me up. Hell ill even let you combo other loons to complete a 12 bottle case.

Yes, a case of Cantillon 750's is 6 bottles. I guess I should have clarified, but I assumed that was known. Either way, 6 obviously didn't land both, but I got several convos offering one (mostly DDG) or the other, but everyone wanted more than 3 FF. Cheers!

If you are serious about wanting the label, I'll send you the empty bottle with the label on it if you send me a fedex label.

I've always been curious about the release info on these two beers. What year and how many bottles were released of DDG and Izzy?

I know of a trade a couple months ago that involved a rare straight up for an izzy.

I was going to say the same thing. I think one went for a Bourbon Vanilla last fall also. Izzy you're talking in the BA Dark Lord range, and I'd say that DDG is slightly below that right now. I've found the more limited loons (FF, LP's, Mamouche, and St Lam.) were much easier to get online this year than they were in the past, so you may want to switch to brewery one-offs if you're serious about landing them.

I think something like Rare+BA Abraxas+BA9K would get it done for the Izzy and maybe Rare+Vanilla or something else would get you a DDG.
