Just had my first taste of DDG tonight, and now I want one. I had a 2013, friend says he bought it for $100 off of a friend in California. Cash value aside, what would it take to land one? I'm an east-coast/Pennsylvania beer person, so just seeing what I should expect to give up. I have a ton of Tired Hands beer as well as Pizza Boy.
I was going to say the same thing, put out the Para set and the Emptiness bottle that was being discussed for KBBS, and you MIGHT get a sniff for DDG and a plus.
Which four bottles would you think @eb1610 So what your saying is that DDG and + should get KBBS...? Not sure what to make of this.
I guess the question is does KBBS trade 1:1+ with '13 DDG? I've seen the Para set + thrown up for some pretty great bottles. Maybe I am underestimating the value of the DDG? No DDG + would not land a KBBS. It would take at least 3, probably. KBBS trade stupid high, especially now that it MIGHT not be made again.
A trade went down in a local group yesterday with DDG+375ml "shelf" Cantillon for Para1 + Para2. Last "reasonable" trade I'm aware of for KBBS (I helped set up the trade) was 3x Fou '14 + 1 Classic Gueuze + 1 Mamouche, all 750ml. It will definitely take even more now. It's typically Fou+DG if you want to infer anything.
Thanks @mlhyatt That is what I thought, have been hearing rumors of it not being made again as well. Not sure how much water those rumors will hold, but it sure does increase that value @mythaeus Saw that get posted to another group I follow as a response to an ISO Para1 + Para2 Not sure how I feel about that, but it is what it is. No, I never said that at all. I was simply saying that the bottles being discussed for KBBS might get a DDG. I never anything about DDG and its ability to get KBBS. Not sure how you put those two together.
@Beerisheaven Although you did not say it, an inference was made on my behalf. What you had written made me infer that an offer of 4 TH bottles (Para set + an Emptiness) offered for KBBS "MIGHT get a sniff" for DDG and a plus. I think by transitive property, my inference wasn't a wild speculation, rather a calculated assumption based upon the information you provided. If 4 TH bottles could land a KBBS (as offered) and you say that it "MIGHT get a sniff for DDG and a plus." then what I "put together" was just from the information that was given to me, from you. No hard feelings, I just don't see how it would take 4 TH bottles (especially some of their more noteworthy beverages) to land a DDG+ based upon the research that I have done. I also think we agree that a DDG+ would not likely fetch a KBBS as things stand. I simply deduced that if those TH bottles could get KBBS or DDG+ than DDG+ should go for KBBS. I didn't think it was a difficult, nor poorly put together line of logic, but then again I am most likely wrong and misinterpreting something I read off of the internet (Which never happens )
The Para set + an Emptiness bottle for DDG+ is overpaying. Unless it's one hell of a plus. Keep your Tired Hands bottles at that rate, I would never do that trade as outlined above. For me, Para1 alone is better than DDG anyway.
I would agree but less than 200 people have Para listed as a want and to be honest Para 1 is really the attraction. A little less than 3,000 people have DDG listed as a want. There are a ton more people who know what DDG is versus who know what Para is. But I don't disagree with what you are saying.
Not sure it helps or anything but I traded a HF Sue + Schaerbeekse Kriek(750) for a DDG like 3 months ago.
