Yeah, not really a workable walk. We're talking to the secong cab company locally to be on the spot, and the first will be here.
Also, for those coming as guests, only Keepers members will have pre purchase access to bottles during the members party. To ensure that some of the low bottle count beers are still available to the public, we believe this is the appropriate step. I understand this will disappoint some, but its a situation where we want to make sure that we do cater to those that have been some of our biggest supporters, yet exclude as few as possible.
I hope and trust that everyone understands that we are doing the best with what we have and that we truly are in a position where we cant please EVERYONE.
Plus side: some more guest taps and bottle pours have been confirmed that we are very excited about. We aren't announcing because we dont want to drive even more demand, and as with most of our guest beer, the supply is very limited!
Looking forward to seeing everyone, and excited for the event!

Even though it sucks I wont be able to buy during the Keepers party (I am someones guest), I totally understand the reasoning. I cant wait to finally try some de Garde beers.

I'm a member, but both my membership and my brother's are in his name. Will I have pre-purchase access to bottles if I'm with him?

An email will be going out to members tonight or tomorrow with final specifics.
Excerpt; most/many Keepers guests ARE going to be folks that paid for memberships through a trustee. And no, as we said at signup, member privileges are for members, hence the in person signup and pickup.
That said, there is nothing stopping any guests from joining any potential line for bottles. Since guests are there early, they can best judge when or if they would like to join any potential line for public entry/bottles.
We are incredibly (!) appreciative of yours and everyone else's support, but we have to make some difficult decisions on what's the right course of action, both in keeping with the spirit of our membership, and doing what we deem fair for our other public supportersm

Will guests have to go back outside to line up? Just curious since I know most of the folks with me will want bottles and I'm guessing the line is going to start forming for public entry super early (probably at the same time as the early entry for Keeper's).

Let me preface what I am about to say by acknowledging that you do not have an enviable task in managing a beer release. There is pressure to make everyone happy, but you can't please everybody.

I am the point man, the name on record, for two of us that have keepers memberships. We made plans a month ago to go to the party together, based on what was said on your Facebook post. As we are both keepers & bought the membership because we are fans of your beer, we both planned to purchase bottles.

The result if this decision is that now (unless the public line forms inside the brewery) only I will attend the keepers party. The other keeper will be waiting outside for 2 hours + to get an early admission spot for the public party.

Any chance you could give out numbered admission tickets to the public opening at 2 (akin to Timbers Army wristbands) to those who get in line early so that those people who are keepers/keeper guests can join the party at 12?

Yeah, I'm in a similar situation with someone who is driving up from California.

Brown Paper Tickets would be one way to very quickly and easily allocate bottles to those coming to the party without having to deal with the potential for a lot of very disappointed people on Saturday.

I am interested in this answer as well. I might not go to the keepers portion if attending means I will be in the back of the public bottle line :slight_frown:

I have a better solution; just send all the bottles to me and I will allocate them in a fair and equitable manner.

Or to me, and I simply won't allocate them. I will be pulling off some Scrooge McDuck antics instead.

If I hear you've been bathing in Imperial Bu Weisse variants, I will smack you in the head with a shoe.

I've already begun to lower my expectations as far getting bottles goes. Judging by the huge response on the FB page and on here (plus all the lurkers/mules), I think a lot of people are going to be making it to the party before I can get in from Bend.

Still extremely excited for the awesome taplist and another fun De Garde event. I have a feeling I'll need to down a few spoonfulls of yeast for this one.

Wait, just to be clear, the member's +1's can still get into the early event, just aren't getting the chance to get bottles? Is that correct? Also, will bottle sales be starting at the public opening time? If a member were looking to head out before then would they still be able to get bottles that were available?

Got the email, looks like guests will have to line up outside with everyone else, no wristbands or anything.

I'm gonna hold out hope for wristbands...
