Not that Cascade is ever cheap, but that's basically a 50% markup between the CA distributor & retail. Cheaper to buy Cascade online and have it shipped to CA than to buy it from local shops. So wrong.

    That's if they still shipped.

Cascade don't ship directly, but their bottles show up in PNW shops (bringonthebeer in particular)

Sour in the Rye is 20 bucks.... 20 bucks. That's just not okay.

Then again, I just hate the Bruery

How many comparable beers are there on the shelf for a better price?

At Sunset Beer Company and Vendome:
    Oceanside AleWorks Daliesque - $13.99
    Boon Gueuze - $12.99
    Boon Mariage Parfait - $15.99
    Russian River Supplication 500ml - $13.99
    Anchorage - Love Buzz - $13.99
    Telegraph - Gypsy Ale - $14.99
    Uinta - Birthday Suit - $13.99
    ...

Sour in the Rye is gross, imo.

    Not comparable quality.

375ml, not 500ml - it's more expensive than Sour in the Rye.

Then why do you even care how much it costs...?

Uinta Birthday Suit is not that great. Also, how are you comparing Supplication's price to Sour in the Rye? Different volumes. In any case, Supplication is a better beer.

Love Buzz? You really gonna compare Sour in the Rye to a Saison with Brett? Come on man.

Other than being sour, none of those beers compare well with Sour in the Rye. It's sour AS HELL and comes in 750mL bottles. I'm not saying they're better or worse, but none of those beers you listed fit that bill.

With a post like that you must have made this account just to troll users on this site. After dG's post this thread should be dead but then you complain about Cascades Gose price of $30. Actually it's $20. http://www.cascadebrewingbarrelhouse.com/index.php?p=beer
Then say SitR is gross. Your opinion is becoming even more worthless since you call the most rated sour (other than Russian River sours) "gross". $20 is a fair price but that's just my opinion and I already know, like you should learn that no one cares about my/your opinion. Facts are facts and with a score of 96 (99 on your ratebeer.com) I'm sure you stand virtually alone thinking as far as sours go, SitR is gross. Supplication is $13 and half the size so you're saying $26 is less than $20. It's even cheaper then Almanac sours.
Don't get me wrong. I think de Garde & SARA make amazing beers and hate to agree with Catchy_Name but he's right. If dG & SARA brewed/distributed like some of the larger breweries there would be much less hype and fan boys.
P.S. It's Barrelworks. Not Bottleworks. Lil Opal, Agrestic, and "a few others" and saying they are not some of the best in the world is a joke. Try Krieky Bones, Bretta Rose, SLOambic, Feral Vinifera, Drupe Bones and then say they are not world class.

To be fair, the Gose costs about $30 if one were to purchase it locally (LA). I would say his complaint is legitimate in that regard.

If DG was in LA stores (which it isn't but Cascade is) it wouldn't be priced at what DG sells it at the tap room.

There would be a markup, but how much of a markup is anyone's guess. The markup I've seen on Cascade's "in-store" prices is a anywhere between 30%-40% so a $20 bottle of Cascade Gose can be found locally for about $28. Let's say De Garde was sold here at the same markup, that $7 bottle of De Garde Gose should cost about $10 at most. I don't know about you, but I'll take the De Garde bottle 100% of the time.

Sure, that's assuming there would be no increase in price because of having to make more beer, hiring more employees, buying more equipment, etc for distribution in CA. A lot of assumptions obviously.

Not necessarily, I've seen many breweries sell their beers out of the taproom for more than retailers carry them for. The stated purpose is to not piss of the retailers by undercutting them. Might not be the case in this instance, but Cascade's retail prices are just straight up shitty.

A lot of hypotheticals, but the point of all this was to express the incredible price difference between De Garde and Cascade. It's not something that can be argued, really.
