I would consider Gypsy world class. It's a beautiful beer.

I thought it was pretty damn good too, this year's batch. Last year's was pretty meh. But it's gotten a lot better. Just had one, in fact, and was pretty impressed.

I still don't think it's up there with the best the sour beer scene has to offer, but for the price it's pretty damn good. I like it better than SitR.

You went from Disciple to Zealot in the course of this thread. I hope this means that you've learned the art of discerning what to take seriously and, probably more importantly, what not to. Most matured BA's have taken a lynching here and there. We learn from them and let the good times roll.

Btw, you should celebrate by cracking open a Bruery Wanderer. Cheers!

Ha! Thanks for the comment. I was at BeerBelly's tap takeover yday and had my Bruery fix, for some time:

S.H.I.T, Smoking Wood w/ Mole, Grey Monday, Chocolate Rain, ToD w/ Vanilla & Cherries, Melange #1, BBA 6 Geese a Laying, Mash and Grind...

    Some delicious stuff.

Why don't you have a Sour in the Rye while you wait for that to happen. Great beer.

Oh cool, what'd you think of that ToD V&C?

I prefer the regular ToD tbh. I don't think the Vanilla works well with the vinous tartness of the beer.

Hardly a normal "saison". Very hefty malt base, aged in red wine barrels.
