I haven't had the regular bu, can anyone that has had both tell me what the major differences are? I looked at the reviews, not much help there.

Seems like the same base beer...

The "regular" Bu variants are usually in the 4-4.5% abv range, while the imperial versions are usually around 5.5%, so most likely different base beers. Other than that, I'm not sure if the amount of fruit per gallon is different, but maybe @deGardebrewing will chime in with more details.

I would assume different base beers because of the ABV difference, but the extra alcohol could come from more fruit sugars instead of grain sugars.

From taste, the Imperial Bus have always tasted more jammy fruit on the tongue, while the regular Bus are more sprightly and acidic. That's just my personal palate though.
