Morning all, I received a couple de Garde's in a trade. I have not had any of their beers before. One is 4.5% and the other is about 6.5. Should I be drinking these as soon as possible, or do they age well?

    Kiwi Bu
    &
    Desay Orange

    Thanks!

I assumed so at the ABV. Thanks!

Anything fruited you should be drinking within 6 months. Thats my rule at least.

Especially since kiwi is quite a delicate fruit. By the way, cracked a Desay a l'Orange about a month ago (I believe there has been only one release, roughly a year ago), and it was drinking really well — tons of tropical fruit. Perfect summer quencher, worth cracking soon.

If you never had it, drink it. Why age something you've never had, you have nothing to compare it to

I wasn't asking because I necessarily wanted to age them, I just won't have an opportunity to share them with friends for about 3 weeks. If it was up to me they'd already be emptied by now. I should've been more clear in my OP.

You'll be fine. I'd just keep them chilled in the fridge in the meantime.

Yeah understandable, 3 weeks isn't really "aging" so you'll be fine regardless.

I have had low ABV De Garde bottles well over the 1 year mark and they were, in fact, more than fine. Don't worry.
