Hey everyone! Going here on a Friday night in March. My wife and I are getting a ride there, but not sure the best/easiest way to get back to our hotel in Brussels. It'll probably be pretty late that we'd be looking to get back.

Thoughts? Is arranging a cab ahead of time the best idea?

    Thanks everyone!

Trainstaition Iddergem is less than 1Km away. And from there to Brussels is not that complicated - ask http://www.belgianrail.be/en/Default.aspx --> you have to change at Denderleeuw - but the whole journey takes 29 minutes and the last train leaves at 10pm. --> have fun and make sure not to miss that one
To Brussel it is 23KM (25 min) - a taxi might be quite expensive… But I think with this someone else knows probably more…

Liedekerke station is about a 20 minute walk from DHVL. A train from there to Brussels Midi/Zuid is 16 minutes with no changes. The last train is around 11pm.

Or you could get a room at DHVL and stay the night there.

Sorry - thanks for the advice. Even better - I should use the other station next time  But I've never been there so late in the evening

I wouldn't be surprised if after dinner is too late for the train to Brussels, just because it's not one of the stations to/from the big cities. Carefully check out sncb.be and then ask restaurant about a cab.

Thanks everyone. I think pricey cab is the best route.... What's another $70-$90 after spending a shit-ton of money on food & drinks, right?

    1. I didn't know what the cost of a cab would be
    2. I didn't know how easily accessible it would be by Train or other public transportation
    3. Locals are usually extremely helpful when figuring out logistics like this.

Hey! March 21st. - We'll be at Cantillon most of day, then getting a ride from friends (from Portland) to DHVL for dinner and drinks.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

LOL I think I am the one giving you a ride, as those geniuses from PDX don't know how to use stick shift and are terrified of roundabouts:slight_smile:
