The meager supply of de Struise beers that I brought over from Belgium have long since disappeared and now I'm got a serious Jones going. Other than Pannepot, are there any stores in LA/OC/SD that stock de Struise brews like Kabert, Black Albert and that excellent Black Damnation series? Thanks in advance.
If there was a local store that stocked any Black Damnation beers, I'd be heading there frequently. Them's some tasty goodness.
Black Damnation series and Kabert, Cueve Delphine, St Amatus were never inported and sent to distributors here in the US. Overseas only unless you order directly from the yeast shop.
Black Albert aplenty at Ledger's in Berkeley. Rio Reserva might still be around somewhere. Tsjeeses is around too.
The yeast on-line shop is overseas as well, no? Is that the direct de Struise on-line source that had hacking problems and isn't accepting new signups?
Yes it is overseas and yes it is the website you are talking about. I would imagine there are other Belgian beer sites that would ship over here but I have only ordered that stuff from Struise directly or brought it back from over there.
In the south Bay Area, Bobby's Liquors always seems to have a few on the shelf. Got a Black Albert the last time I was in there, price was pretty fair too IIRC.
Valley Beverage in Sherman Oaks and Vendome in Studio City have Pannepot and Black Albert. VB has Tjseeses & Tsjeeses Reserva and Rio Reserva as well
