What is everyone seeing for the pricing on the Struise Black Damnations I, II, III, IV, and XII on shelves in the states? I'm seeing $44.99 per 750ml in Indiana and they are uber limited.

The only time I've ever seen them around Boston was when a liquor store brought in a bunch for a tasting. They opened one bottle each and then about about 10 each at $54 per. I liked them a lot but not $54 liked them.

$49.99 at Julios is MA. A good friend bought me a bottle of Blackberry Albert in Belgium at 25 euro.

With the exception of VIII they were all like +/- 18 € or so at the brewery, I don’t remember exactly but they were not cheap. Figures that you are all seeing those prizes.
    VIII was something like 13 - 15.
A lot of the cost is actually the bottle which was insanely expensive to make without the bottle they would be close to what the original were keeping size of the bottle in mind.

I've paid around €20 euro each. I think the old concept of 33cl bottles was a better idea. They went for around €3 a piece. Thats €26,66 versus €9 per litre.

Double Black is about to be released at the brewery and the shop in Bruges, and I'm afraid that one will be even more expensive.

$43 each for II and III here. Bought both. Both were infected and sour.

Yikes. I remember the 33cl bottles that were like $12-14 shipped overseas. Missed out on a chance to try Blackberry, so I can't comment on that bottle, but these otherwise are good beers that are absolutely not worth that price tag. There are plenty of limited or even minimally hyped release BA Imperial Stouts that sit in the $15-25 range to go this route, imho.

No way I am paying that, I can get a case of good beer for that price. Nugget Nectar for example.

I love the black damnation series and was really looking forward to trying them all again. At those prices though...wow. They are really good beers but quite frankly I dont care how beautiful or expensive the bottle is when all I want is whats inside. That is really a shame.

Black Damnation II: Mocha Bomb is probably one of the five best imperial stouts I've ever had. But I never paid $40+ for a 750ml, I bought five or six 12oz. bottles in 2010 from the Struise webshop.

Is it not the same bottle as the Founder's Backstage Series? Why is it so much more?
