    Revisited.

I've chased sexier brews and harder to get IPA's, but sorry to most of you Death By Hops kicks your ass. This is one easily forgotten, easy to get local brew that is simply outstanding. Much better than IPA's I've traded for.

Now if only Olde Hickory would put something, anything, in 6-packs.

I need to revisit...how far out is the enjoy by mark on the side?

LOL 3/15. This one was very fresh, very similar to Two Hearted Ale. Wish this one was a sixer as well, it would easily push Bells.

The good batches are great. That bad ones taste like aspirin.

This is a great batch then, but inconsistency seems to be the deal with some of these small volume local breweries.

Big fan of this beer, and also the swank OH glass I somehow managed to get back to the hotel from Brewgrass without breaking.

This one is easily as good as Two Hearted Ale, which isn't exactly damning with faint praise, 2H Ale is a world class IPA. The bomber price point is a turn off, wish it was a 6er as well.

when these breweries chase the fad beer styles and spend more time to "rare" or one-off releases it's hard for them to master the consistency needed to perfect the classic year-round styles. Not saying it can't be done, but they definitely make it harder on themselves. I agree that DBH is one of the best local IPAs when it hits its mark.

There are definitely more good batches than bad ones. I can only think of one time in the past year I've had it taste like aspirin. I tend to only drink this one on draft though due to the bomber price. Give me 6 packs under $9 and it'd be my go to IPA.

I love when the dry hops shine. When they dont, its an alpha acid, over hop boiled bomb.

Good thing Olde Hickory has been nailing the "fad beer styles" then, huh?

Theyve been nailing all of their BA stuff. Daniel Boone, Event Horizon, Eiraphiotes, Seven Devils (second only to Backwoods), and Lindley Park have been ridiculously good; even Bestway IPA (oak aged) only lost to White Oak Jai Alai and Oaked Unearthly. Even their regular type stuff like Oktoberfest and Imperial Stout are really damn tasty too.

I trust anything Olde Hickory puts in a barrel or on wood anymore.

probably one of the more reliable NC breweries with Foothills and Highland.

I am a big fan of Olde Hickory, lots of great beers in their lineup. One of my favorite NC breweries

Wow. Complete opposite here...I remember thinking Eiraphrates was a boozy mess, Saison Gee desperately needed to not be barrel aged, and Lindley Park is/was a cough syrup bomb.

But Event Horizon is well worth the hype and praise. And the real gem is their core lineup, under-appreciated and under-enjoyed.

Didn't like Daniel Boone, way too flat, it needed more carbonation. It tasted ok, just drank like a beer you opened last night and finished it in the morning. I also use Hickory stick and their IMP Stouts in trades and remarks are always positive, their everyday stuff is damn good. But I agree EH is the star of their line up.

Don't forget B's Nuts. B's Nuts was pretty tasty. I never thought B's nuts would have a nice dry taste but it was a solid brew. That and I just wanted to pay homage to B's Nuts.

I believe if you speak this post out loud its much funnier than reading it. Especially if out in public. FYI.
