Anybody else tried Abita Wrought Iron IPA? Surprisingly good from an average brewery.

Someone on here posted about it, which led me to picking up a couple bottles. This is a very good beer, really glad this will be a year rounder. Abita has stepped it up with this and their bourbon barrel aged stout IMO.

I've been hoping for a couple of certain Minnesota brewers to come to Texas, but CBS wasn't one I had in mind. Not knocking CBS as I've never had any of their brews or even heard of them. There were just others I had my mind set on.

Based on BA scores and what they have made, I am not expecting anything here. I hope I am wrong.

The only one I have had was the bacon maple. It was terrible...but they nailed the flavors.

Looks like they've been busy approving all those damn bud lite cans. Silva Stout, get in my belly. EDIT: Crap, kegs only.

Silva stout in bottles was approved 2 weeks back...so no worries.

And, yes, 150+ Bud Light approvals full of sayings that only idiots would buy a beer for.

"Victory at Sea" is on my short list of outstanding brews; I hope that Ballast Point's indulgence in this recent fad of "whiskey barrel aged" brewing, which has produced so many less than stellar brews, doesn't result in another cluster fudge of a brew.

It's been done before. I believe now it's using their own whiskey, "Devil's Share", barrels but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
