Defend a beer that a lot of people consider to be average or mediocre.

I'll start with Harpoon IPA. Ive been drinking it in cans all week and I dont see whats so bad about it. I can sorta understand why a hardcore beer geek wouldnt like it but for me its a solid 7/10.

budweiser is part of my life history. tons of good times drinking this beer. ive been a roofer for 12 years and a cold bud after a hot dirty day was some of the best beer drinking ive ever had. i still crack one open every now and then for old times sake. i know its not a great beer but sometimes its refreshing and it just works and i feel no shame.

Karl Strauss is not exactly my source for quintessentially fine beers. Most of their stuff is garbage.. However, a couple of weeks ago, I tried their Pintail Pale Ale and it was like, really really good. Like, if Zombie Dust and Alpha King are 10/10, this is an 8.75/10. Incredibly surprising.

As much as I'll get flamed for writing this, I'll defend Coors Light 'til the day I die. It's typically served very cold, goes down like water, and does the trick for satisfying a domestic beer on a binge-drinking budget for an evening - perfect for drinking games, etc.

Two words: Moose Drool. Tried it because of the name. Keep drinking it because of the taste. Great beer to take on a hiking trip.

I don't think there can be any debate about Coors Light's perfect pairing with drinking games.. Stellar.

Yuengling Lager remains my favorite session beer; cheap, drinkable, solid flavor....

How are we defining average/mediocre? Moose Drool is a pretty kick-ass beer if we take style/context into account.

Bucket full of (cheap) beer. A shot glass in the middle. You go around the table and you have to pour some amount of beer into the shot glass without sinking it. The person who sinks the shot glass has to chug all the beer.

    It'll get you drunk.

Avery White Rascal...I'd say it has fairly average ratings. I don't see anyone knocking it, certainly nobody praises it, and most of the reviews are fairly average/mediocre.

I personally love this beer. In fact, Our cat is named after it...W.R. Brewski. White Rascal Brewski. Brewski for short. Because he's white and orange (a witbier with orange peel...see what we did there!?), and he's a rascal. I would agree it's not the most mindblowing of beers in its respective style, and wits don't necessarily get a lot of love from BA's anyways. But it was one of my first ventures into the craft world (a random bottom shelf find at a super sketchy gas station when we were on the road...before I even knew what a "witbier" was). And I still find it delicious. Easy to drink, refreshing, sessionable but with enough flavor to keep me interested through two or three of them. I visited Avery this last Winter, and out of all the awesome things they had on tap, I was most excited about trying White Rascal.

Since I first tried White Rascal, I've had much more delicious wits. Highly rated wits. Barrel-aged imperial wits. Simply better wits. In fact, I've found that I'm not terribly fond of wits to begin with. But I still just like White Rascal. If I'm unable to make my mind up at the store, I'm never disappointed if I come home with it.

Agreed. 3.7 on here is pretty average (I think). First time I had it we were hiking in Yellowstone. We went to a bar and asked what beer they had and soon as Moose Drool came up it was game over.

How large is this bucket, exactly? Sounds like a shit-show waiting to happen. Love it.

Dos XX for sure. Its light, crisp, and refreshing. Perfect for a hot day or binge drinking.
Also Samuel Adams Boston Ale. Its lighter than most ales and i love how the ale teases you with hints of caramel and pumpkin.

I really like labatt blue. the price is great and it think it tastes way better than any similar bmc product. It doesn't have that musty/skunky flavor that the others have.

That beer pre-dates a lot of more modern IPAs (probably been around since 1994), so the recipe is kind of old-school. Still- I found myself really digging it on tap at a place in the Catskills not too long ago, and even found it to be hoppier than I was expecting, considering the crap that gets said about it. I definitely wouldn't mind that experience again.

Miller Lite. Those vortex bottles really work! I can honestly say I've never had a "Heinz ketchup" experience with a single bottle of Miller Lite.
