Before the days of Sam Adams, I used to drink Ballantine ale on tap. Quite good- an old
macro classic. Much better than the other macro offerings of the era.

Sam Adams Triple Bock. Yes there are soy notes, but there are also dozens of other complex flavors. Its a little bottle and I would recommend every BA to split a bottle 2-3 ways. It is a great experience in what a beer can be and what 15-20 years can do to something so extreme.

Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. It catches tons of shit for being too sweet or artificial tasting and to that I say: bullshit. It tastes like a clean, straight-forward pale lager with just the slightest bit of real strawberries on the finish. There are few beers more refreshing during the summer. I honestly feel like people just hate it because of pre-conceived notions due to the craptastic Purple Haze (which is too sweet and artificial tasting).

I can't always find it in my area but if I want a cheap and really drinkable beer I always grab Moosehead. Nothing goes better than some hockey and ice cold Moosehead.

I'm going to take this in a slightly different direction, because I feel the need to defend Green Flash/St. Feuillien Friendship Brew.

It's got an rAvg of 3.28, and while I'm not going to sit here saying it's great, it's much better than some of the comments I see about it would lead on. It's definitely an odd beer, but I liked it well enough, rating it 3.73.

I'll occasionally grab one in a mixer sixer just as a change up.

Bought it once when I was first getting in to tasty beers. Tasted like soy sauce with with a cigarette butt dropped in it. Hated it then, couldn't bring myself to buying it now

Gotta say, this man is right-on! Wanna roll all night? Great taste? (hey freah water tastes great!) Less Filling? Less cals than all but Ultra! Drink your 2 or 3 heavies, then let Miller rock. No major hangs, performance minimally affected (unless you've cruised right on past the witching hour). Bust the majors all ya want, but I always lean on Miller Lite (spell it right!).

Bud Light Lime- it's the only BMC product I buy and I only buy it when I'm camping in the summer and its hot as hell outside. What can I say, a 12 pack goes down so easily around a campfire.

I said the same thing when I had my first IPA. Bitter grossness, I'll never buy one again. Look at me now. Seriously, after you've had a few dozen stouts/strong ales you appreciate it much more.

I'd agree, you really can't turn one or five down on a hot day in the sun.

Agreed. It's dirt cheap, has a definite kick, and is far and away the best malt liquor out there. Really quite good.

No Blue Moon yet? I love it and it's a great gateway beer. Plus, pretty much any shit bar with shit taps will still have blue moon.

'Gansett Lager for me. Tastes half decent compared to most other AAL's, its on the cheaper side, and feels good swillin it while cutting the lawn during the summer.

I find the lime flavor a little overpowering. Labatt lime is a little more subtle to me. With that said, I still can't turn down either when the temp breaks 90.

I second the motion on Genesee Cream Ale. Tasty, refreshing, reliable.
