I'm going to go with Sam Adams Octoberfest. This is my quintessential Fall beer. This brew also got me into craft beer. I will ignore everyone's opinions of this beer because I know that it's an excellent representation of the style and the malty backbone is fucking awesome. Excuse the profanity.

I don't know if it's considered an "average/mediocre" beer or not but I LOVE Troegs HopBack Amber. That was one of my first craft beers and I still religiously trade for their beers. More power to ya John and Chris!

This reminds me that I need to grab a sixer of this. Definitely one of the top readily available amber ales.

If it makes you feel better I have to go into another state to get this.

Doesn't make me feel better....I have to drink Alpine Nelson, Societe Pupil and Pliny all day but no HopBack Amber out here. So dumb. ISO, ha.

So you're complaining that you only have the top rated beer in the world?! Lol. I'm pretty sure I'd take that any day, even though I'm a sucker for a good amber ale.

Perfect. Lately I've been getting a lot of great, interesting trades, and to be honest, sometimes drinking them feels like homework: since I spent so much time finding and acquiring them, I've set all kinds of crazy expectations that can only be fulfilled by drinking them "seriously." On the other hand, sometimes one of those amazing beers will shoot straight to the "fuck, yeah!" territory and become just so fun to drink that you forget its reputation.

That happened to me last weekend with Heady--after one "meh" experience a couple of months ago, I had a great, fuck, yeah thing happen on Saturday, where I just started sucking down one Heady after another. I didn't want to break it down, or review it, just wanted to enjoy the hell out of it like, well, a high-schooler drinking Bud. Sometimes it goes beyond the rational and becomes pure pleasure.

Fat Tire is pretty solid stuff on-draught. Very approachable and drinkable, with a lot of depth of flavour for the style.

Haven't had the same experience with the bottled form, though.

I suppose caldera IPA is considered an average beer, in comparison to all the other IPA's out there. I still think it is the bee's knee's :grinning:.

I still love Guinness. It got me into craft beer. Now I have far too many stouts in my cellar.

PBR. My favorite session beer. Cheap as hell and goes down like water. (Semi-tasty water lol). Plus I can drink a ton of these and not really get much of a buzz (that's either a positive or a negative, depending who you ask.)

Pyramid Outburst! $7-ish for a sixer, tastes good and is available everywhere.

There is a place for Corona, and it is immediately following the completion of cutting the lawn. Then switch back to something with flavor.

I like that one, but prefer the Ashland Amber- very drinkable with a hint of citrusy/sunshiny goodness.

Forgot about Bass. I was at a friend's wedding and the beer choices there were BMC, Heineken, Corona and Bass. I got a pint of Bass and damn if it wasn't tasty. I don't mind drinking a pint or two of it when options are limited
