On page 44 of Issue #61, BA highlights Trafalgars poor track record, yet also notes that their sales have tripled and that the LCBO has requested they increase production. Admittedly, I've bought every one of their releases in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, they'd discovered how to properly brew. And on the rare occasion, I have found one that is decent. I would suspect that the increase in sales is largely due to (i) their 'convenient' availability, (ii) the increase in demand for craft beer, (iii) pricing, and (iv) the newly developing palette of new craft beer drinkers (thus, less critical). I can see why the LCBO likes it because they do sell lots of it. I guess I just wish they would start to pump out better brews with characteristics that are more fitting of the style they're trying to replicate.

    Rant over...

I've tried a few of their beers and that was enough for me.

It is funny their beers are so crappy but seem to be part of every LCBO release. I have heard there is suspicion of some shady business going on between them and the LCBO. Haven't read that article yet going to do that today.

I bought a bottle of there maple bock a couple of weeks back and I regret it. I didn't drink it yet but I checked the score and it's worst than Budweiser, Miller and Coors Light. Pretty sad when a craft brewer can't even make better beers than the macros.

Don't feel so bad... I bought 2 in the hopes that it might be trade worthy... Now, based on the reviews, I've got 2 bottles of Drano. Obviously, next time I'll be more careful to check the reviews before wasting $5... Then again, I've wasted $5 on worse things (he says before he eats his words).

Wish I had my copy of the mag so I could read this article. Trafalgar really is an anomaly with their beer sales. Almost everyone you know never buys the stuff, and if they have it's only ever one bottle as that's enough just to turn you off the brand. I've only ever bought 2 bottles of their beers, and vowed never to again. It would be interesting to see the sales v's returns for Trafalgar.

Maybe they have photos of the big wigs at LCBO in compromising positions?
