A friend of my wife is coming up to Boston from Delaware the weekend of St. Patricks Day. What is there for good breweries in that state or for random distribution beers that are sold there that I wouldn't be able to find up here? I'd like to get her to bring me up some stuff. Nothing that she would have to stand in line for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

State Line in Elkton, MD has a great online list of what they have. close to 95 in Delaware and a better selection.

Also, the Total Wine in Claymont DE is right off 95 before you cross into PA.

You can search their website for availability. They don't get much in the way of limited release beers, but they do usually have a decent amount of beers from Delaware breweries like DFH, Mispillion River, Old Dominion, 16 Mile, etc.

I'm a fan of Mispillion River's Holy Crap which is available in six packs and is a hoppy red ale:

As far as Delaware breweries go Mispillion cans should be easy to find. Holy Crap and Not Today Satan are solid beers. If they have time to grab a growler at Bellefonte I would recommended picking up one of their sours or one of there maltier styles, they have been doing a great job brewing traditional malty/yeast drive styles.

State Line from time to time gets kegs of stuff like Hype from RAR, so that is another thing to be on the look out for.

Blue Earl is an up and coming DE brewery that is doing some good stuff. Should be able to find some bottle distribution in the area.

I seconf Blue Earl. they just did a bottle release of a double iPA. Specialty bottles are at the brewery in Smyrna. Their pale and other is found in stores. 2 Stones Bell Cracker out of PA is a great IPA too though not Delaware...

Was that Blue Train? My buddy sent me a couple of those. I'm not a big fan of Walking Blues (the single IPA), but everything else I've had was good.

Yes Blue Train. Walking blues is ok....everything I have had at the brewery has been way above board. Their Reaper Chile beer was fantastic.
