I did the same and it was when I was drinking more heavily. I try to keep it at fewer "heavier" beers now and drink a ton of water. But it's miserable. My wife is a physician and we have gotten to the point where we have gone to her office to give me a shot of toradol and it still takes a couple hours to work. For some reason those headaches are near to impossible to get rid of and (in my case at least) have risen to migraine level pain at times.

    I'm rarely hungover
I've learned to always have a glass of water alongside whatever I'm drinking, and to keep refilling it throughout the night. Usually does the trick, usually:wink:

This morning I had a hangover I swear must have been delayed from my college days, 40 years ago. I only had one beer last night. :grimacing:

I saw the beer you drunk, frankly from the looks of it(the beer) you are lucky to be alive.

The hangover is delayed from the time you go to bed and the time you woke up... You don't feel anything while you're asleep...

Thankfully I rarely have a hangover, but when I do I wake up in the middle of the night with a killer headache. I dream about having a headache, until it wakes me up.

The best way to avoid hangovers is to know your limit For me, being a small person and drinking only on weekends I don't have a big tolerance with alcohol. Just to take an extra glass of wine with my beer before the meal can give me a little hangover. I don't experience those delays, I have it or not...

I don't know if it's really size though. I'm 6'1 215 lbs but I am also a weekend only drinker. I would have a couple during the week but I travel for work a lot to places where you use piss pipes and wag bags, so a Paulaner is no where to be found. So, no drinking at all during the week usually. My problem is a lot of times I come home already dehydrated and then add alcohol to the mix. It just doesn't take much for me to have a hangover anymore. My go to is plenty of water before bed and a shaker of hydrating aminos. Then I have the hydrating aminos when I get up. Anyway, for me at least it has more to do with consistency in consumption than size.

I'm just thankful for being young enough to shake off most hangovers within an hour or two.

Enjoy it. In a few short years you'll have 6 beers and need IV fluids and a 24 hour stay for observation.

Surprisingly no, I'm quite averse to the hair of the dog. Some Gatorade and a sufficiently greasy breakfast works most days.

I put a bottle or glass of water on my nightstand every night of the week regardless of if I have "had a few" the night before or not. I chug it upon awakening. The simple fact is that most people are walking dehydrated these days...

I also find that as I get older I can’t drink near as much beer as I did when I was younger, if I drink 3 beers in a weekend day it’s a lot. Two is about my max anymore. I just get full, and I’d guess in my life I’ve been literally been drunk on beer maybe once ever. Like most Tequila and Vodka and booze in general, accounts for the other problems. I like an occasional bourbon, and I love gin in the summer. I also find I can’t do consecutive days of drinking, the second day can be a problem. I just don’t feel right, and after reading the input here I’m sure the lack of water is a problem. I don’t think it’s a volume problem that would be easy to say, damn one or two too many. But I think it’s the consecutive day thing with out being properly hydrated. If I have a few on Fri it’s cool, have a few on Sat it’s cool, but thinking back it’s the Sunday mornings that sometime are not cool. Live and learn, we’re never too old, I’ve been drinking more water this week, and eating a better breakfast. It’s a start.

The symptoms some of you guys are describing are probably linked to poor sleep caused by the alcohol. Alcohol is known to alter normal sleep patterns and decrease the amount of REM sleep. This can cause the person to feel more tired the next day. It also can effect the central nervous system and exacerbate sleep apnea. This basically means the person stops breathing multiple times throughout the night causes multiple low oxygen periods and stressing the body.

This exactly. Luckily, I (almost) never get hangovers anymore. But I always know when I had too much or didn’t space them out enough or didn’t stay hydrated when I get that shitty night’s sleep and wake up feeling tired.

This is the best advice I have ever heard! The more you move the more your body can pump out all those toxins. Plus you don't think about being hung over lol!
