I have a bottle of Nocturnum that a buddy gave my wife and I (well, he gave us two, but one is left) when we got married about a year and a half ago. I have just been reading about cellaring for the first time for the last few days and had to check out the label when I noticed there was a definite code. Trouble is - it doesn't really jive with what I've found on the internet - here's an explanation that I read:

'On the bottom of the back label, the first letter of each month are printed from J to D. Following are the two last digits of the year from 06 to 11. Marks in the label indicate the month and year of the best before date.'...

Granted this explanation was given for tremens... but anyhow, I'm going to try to post a couple of photos (this here be my first post on this fantastic website) and maybe someone can help me - looks like it says 04/01/03?? could that be? That would imply that this beer was either bottled in 2003 (AWESOME) or expired at that time (GOD NO!)[IMG] [IMG]

Thanks for your help - glad to be a part of this community!
