Was thinking it was a little pricey myself. Ive enjoyed stuff there but not blown away enough to pay $25+ for a bottle of it

"retail" might be $25 as well... but worst case you are guaranteed a bottle of each with out waiting in lines and the option to buy more then one before it goes public.

Another Brewery (and beers) for which there is little or no demand for, who has no experience or track record Barrel Aging, overpricing their bottles and asking for money up front from their customers so they can sock away $30k in their bank account. Looks like just another club I am happy not to be a member of.

After their porter tasting and smelling like rotten eggs I'm good not giving them any more money.

As an FYI - they have a new brewer, who is a pretty good dude and knows how to brew good beer. Would expect their stuff to considerably improve from here on out.

    wasn't the owner the brewer?

    When was this?

Was there a few weeks ago and while I believe the Citra wheat improved a bit, that porter smelling and tasting like rotten eggs has turned me off to them for the time being despite them being only eight minutes away.

This is relatively new - just a few weeks. Don't expect an overnight overhaul, but in some time I think Demented will be pumping out some good things.

This is hilarious. They put out a miserable DIPA intended to be a heady clone and now they start a membership club? GTFO.

I live close by too, and while I've enjoyed sampling some beers at a place so convenient, I've been underwhelmed. It could be promising that they got a new brewer, but $25 a bottle? Who are they, Bruery? There's no way in hell I'm paying that. I can't imagine anyone here would considering, as posted above, they have no track record at this point.

I agree with the general commentary. I have been here and thought the beer was decent, but $25 a bottle? No way. Magnify's last (smaller than these) bottle was $13 and much higher quality than anything I have tasted from Demented.

Looks like they revised the club to now include 5 bottles + 2 club specific glasses.

Even that's a bit crazy. they just opened up and have no track record - and they are selling their BA beers for more than Kane (who is obviously well established in NJ) sells theirs for.

IMHO - If they are dead set on a Bottle club - prices should be $12-$15 to start - but they should really refine their offerings and get a following before doing a bottle club...

Seems like a lot of Breweries are on this track, Spellbound had a club before they even produced a single beer, Forgotten Boardwalk had a pretty awful club although that was free for what that's worth. Third State Brewing released boy who cried wolf which was also sold at a $25 price point.

Until people stop buying these beers breweries will charge as much as they can get away with. I agree with you, $12-$15 is where these should start.

That's my fear that the good breweries like Kane will start being like well these breweries that aren't nearly as good as ours are charging and getting $25 per bottle and we just had 4,000 bottles sell out in 15 seconds for nearly 2/3 of that. No thanks on the Demented bottle club for me

ha. what a concept. bottles without waiting in lines for a brewery that has no lines for anything.

I wouldn't say shit beer. Some of their beers are solid, but IMO they cranked out way too many beers too quickly instead of fine tuning a few first. Can't comment on customer service or sense if direction.

My big thing is that they have the beginnings of an awesome pale ale (Sol Reaper), and yet it seems like they just want to run with their Dementia recipe which just, well, isn't any good.
