After further consideration, we have taken your feedback and extended the barrel legion to include 6 bottles. This will be the last time the program is changed.

    NOW INCLUDES 6 BOTTLES!

We are extremely excited to announce our 2016 Barrel Legion!

We have begun a barrel aging program and will be releasing these beers in bottles throughout 2016. This "demonship" entitles you to 6 bottles, one per release, over the course of the year and 2 Legion exclusive Belgian glasses (perfect for sharing a bottle). It also entitles you to purchase an additional bottle of every release, while supplies last, before release to the general public.

For 2016, The Legion will be limited to 300 demons. This is to ensure that we have ample supply of some of our smaller releases. Demonships will be limited to 1 per person and 2 per household. All demons must be of legal drinking age and will be required to present proof of identification at bottle pickups. Proxies are acceptable as long as they are arranged prior to pickup.

Here are a couple releases that we already have planned for late winter / early spring.

Bourbon Barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout (Wrath)
Brandy Barrel-aged Belgian Dark Strong (Night-mare)

We also have a vintage release slated for late summer / early fall.

Rum Barrel-aged Imperial Pumpkin Ale (2015 Samhain)

    More to come...

Demonships can be purchased through our online store. It is not necessary to come to the brewery to pick up your order. Pickup instructions will be emailed to you at a later date.

This sounds like 8-year olds playing house and just making things up as they go. All the way down to the fact that they are calling them "demonships"

More than one of the new start ups in NJ are putting the horse ahead of the cart IMO. Brew a good IPA,Stout, Pale or Red Ale ect before you even think about a barrel program.

was this really 4 bottles at first, then 5, now 6? This just tells me they were way over pricing their beer in the first place. Another reason I wouldn't go back there. (This makes it 4 strikes)

I guess it's good they're gauging reaction and adjusting prices, but I tend to agree with your assessment. First it was 4 bottles, then 5 plus two glasses, now it's 6 bottles with two glasses. Went from $25 down to about $15 per bottle. Shit, I'd like to have some of their first barrel-aged beer on tap before I'd consider buying a SINGLE expensive bottle much less commit to a "demonship."

I'm not sure it's that Demented is listening to public reaction or these memberships just are not selling. Seems to me these type of things typically sell out in hours (or days at the very least) when breweries release them. If memberships are still available weeks after they are released its a huge embarrassment for the the brewery and that seems to be what's happening. It may be a novel idea in today's beer world, but how bout brew the beer, let us come to the brewery or find it in bars and taste it, see if we like it, and then we can give Demented our hard earned money for a job well done and support the Brewery going forward.

Almost felling really bad now, theybare really trying hard to sell them selves. But not hard hard enough to fork over the cash

Maybe that should stop trying to sell themselves and work on brewing better beer.

I'm getting an ad from Demented Brewing on my facebook page. No mention of the cost of either the membership or the bottles.

I enjoyed their tap room, loved their strawberry cream ale, like Scarlet Knight (red ale) - underwhelmed by everything else. I would not be joining their member club, even though I do want to join one in general. If Carton did one, or Kane (though I don't see it happening), I'd happily join.

Haven't been there in quite a while. Anyone try all those new stouts or the big sour beer? Wondering how the newer beers are.

The sour stout was my favorite beer of theirs, I've been there a few times, they have a new head brewer for the last couple of months, and they have been getting better.

I just stopped by again on Sunday. A couple beers were pretty good, but they haven't wowed me with anything yet.

Problem with this is and something I've found with Bolero too is that they've now pigeon holed themselves into mediocrity. Takes alot to break the general consensus.
