Denizens Brewing Co. Open in Silver Spring, MD

    I just wanted to give a shout-out to Denizens Brewing Co., which just officially opened yesterday down the street from my apartment. Silver Spring has desperately needed a place like this, so they're a welcome addition to the neighborhood. They're currently only serving one of their own beers, Southside Rye IPA, along with some other local stuff, but they said that they're planning to have five of their own beers on tap by the end of August. The Southside Rye was pretty impressive and, at the very least, on par with DC Brau's Public and Corruption. I hope they continue to make good stuff.

    They just tweeted out that their 2nd beer, an ESB, will be released next weekend with their "full lineup" coming in September.

    hope they make it. that particular location has been death to previous restaurants, but it looks like they really spruced the place up

    I live around the corner from Denizens as well...went on Wednesday night and really enjoyed it. I found the Rye IPA to be nice and easy drinking. The beer garden is a great addition to downtown Silver Spring, an area that is lacking good places with outdoor seating.

    I look forward to heading back soon to sample the rest of their beers as they come available.

    I think this place definitely has potential and I hope it works out for them. Its a little bit of a haul to get there for me, so I will probably wait until they get the full lineup of beers up and running.

    By the way, I wonder if those red plastic cups they are using in the picture have their logo on them??? :confused: haha
