I'm showing up for a couple days in denver immediately following GABF. The last time I spent any real time in Denver, Wynkoop was pretty much the best/only option for good beer. I'll likely only have a bit of time to get out and grab something good, any tips on where I should hit up will be greatly appreciated. Assuming that likely there will still be some non-standard stuff on places
Here's a starter list: First Draft Falling Rock Freshcraft Crafty Fox Goed Zuur Star Bar Hops and Pie
The Wynkoop was the best option for years, but those days are mostly long over. Doesn't mean it isn't worth the occasional visit, though. They have guest taps upstairs that can be amazing on occasion. Stig's list is spot on, though. The week after GABF just about any multi-tap place within 30 miles will have special items still on.
It's a hit and miss place to begin with. Their house recipes are good, but it feels like every few years they get a new brewer and things fall off while they acclimate. I'm sure the repeated ownership drama probably isn't any help. The "dialed in" versions of Rail Yard, Patty's Chili, Sleggenhammer, Artillery, Chancellor, Mile High Malt, etc. are pretty great. Yet they keep changing or dropping them.
Yeah.... My Wynkoop experience was mostly mid-late 90s. And it was great at the time. Might have to stop in for a pint, just for old times sake. Thanks for the suggestions tho!
Outside of downtown area: Hops and Pie Colorado Plus Bull and Bush and I'm gonna put Hogshead Brewing since they have cask pours of darn fine beer.
