I go to Denver for a couple days every summer. I'm looking for some recommendations for breweries to visit that are new / up-and-coming / hidden gems / staples I've missed. Don't really need to take a brewery tour (although thats always fun), just looking to try some new brews. I visited some of the 'staples' (New Belgium, Avery, Great Divide, Left Hand, Oskar Blues, O'Dell) in past summers. There are so many breweries in that area that I know nothing about, just looking for some recommendations. Thanks!
1. Comrade 2. Cannonball Creek 3. Hogshead 4. Trve Plus, if you haven't been to Crooked Stave yet, get on it!
Cannonball Creek had some butter issues recently, not sure if it's been remedied. I'd add in Station 26 and Goldspot
I always make sure to hit Wild Woods in Boulder when we're up there. I don't hit Coda in Aurora often but I haven't been disappointed yet. Their BA 180 Gram was pretty darn good. If you want to Crowler up on some Dry Dock, hit Dry Dock North aka The Canoe Room. Right now they have their Whiskey aged Imperial Stout on. Last week you could have Crowlered Bligh's for less than it costs for a bottle in the same tasting room. Though I wouldn't try to age it that way. Only open Thu-Sat with limited hours. I'm still a big fan of Copper Kettle as well. Even if their Mexican Chocolate Stout isn't your thing, they tend to have something for most tastes. These are in addition to the aforementioned, not instead of
In no particular order my faves are Dry Dock, Comrade, Mountain Sun/Vine St. Pub (any of them), Bull & Bush, and Hogshead.
