Denver Beer Co was at Argonaut today with some cans of Incredible Pedal IPA and Graham Cracker Porter. $7.99/sixer and they were handing out koozies!

Even better was I saw the regular price was $8.99.... not bad considering I feel like any 6-pack nowadays is $10+

Was a huge fan of that when I tried it at their taproom. Granted, I am a complete sucker for nelson sauvin hops.

Is that what it's primarily hopped with? Would've fooled me.

At least when I tried it at the taproom...

DBC has been all over the place with their beers. Each batch of the same recipe differs quite a bit, but both cans tasted better than expected. GCP tasted like the Bronze Medal beer from a few years back and IP was deliciously hoppy. Now if only they can recreate this for the second batch of cans and future releases....

I think I had heard they hired a brewer from Great Divide, so hopefully it equals consistency. Never been a fan, but hey, I'll give the cans a go...

Yeah, I think that has hopefully helped them out. Their MO of brewing nothing but 1-offs and rotators never helped either.

The important question is now - how well will these can hold up? Other than the major players like Ska and OB, I've noticed some major, major consistency and carbonation issues with small breweries that can.

Essentially, I think, they have two brewing operations; taproom and canning. Different brewers...

Not sure that is a smart approach as the cans were some of the best beer DBC has made, other than their big barrel aged beers. If I were to buy a can and enjoy a beer and then show up at the brewery to find a different beer I would be upset. Hope they make huge can recipes and then keg some of that beer.

I'm guessing the majority of people who frequent DBC either wouldn't notice or wouldn't care (and that isn't meant to be a negative thing, although I guess it probably is, but I think the majority of people who go to DBC go for the atmosphere and the patio).

It's not just them. I've had problems with operations that dwarf theirs. Some of which I think the world of on tap and in bottles. The list of breweries doing a great job with their canning QC is much smaller than the ones who don't. I love Ska's beers to death, but one other reason I buy so much of their beers is because they're as consistent as they come. There are at least 4-5 breweries I'd keep in my fridge all of the time, too...but I can't.

Picked up another sixer yesterday from Argonaut and this batch is off. Pretty flat and not as good as the first time I bought it. Bummer.
