    Hey everyone,

My buddies and I from the east coast are planning on heading out to Denver for the GABF this year but are looking for a great dinner our first night. We once did the Surly Brewers Table when in Minneapolis a couple years ago and it was great. Better food with a beer pairing dinner. It was pretty pricey but was worth it.

My question is if there is anywhere in Denver that does anything similar? I would imagine there should be given all of the great breweries in the city.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers!

The Mercantile Beer dinner sounds up your alley. It's usually on the Wednesday of GABF. It used to be a Crooked Stave Atrisans event, but I don't think it is anymore. Either way, the food is excellent and they serve legit whalez, too.

I did the Crooked Stave dinners a few years ago (Young Guns, they called it the first time...can't remember the title the next year).

If this Mercantile Dinner is the same thing, it is exactly what you're looking for, OP.

There will be a few other similar events, too, I'm sure. Keep an eye on some of the fancier Denver restaurants, eg, the Kitchen.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Ill keep an eye out for those places. As of right now we'll be landing Friday so hopefully dinners like the Mercantile are still going on then.

I don't think it's the exact same thing as Young Guns (last year it was Trillium, Russian River, and Sante Adarius), but it's very similar. I think CSA is either no longer involved or is only quietly involved now. Luckily its still very similar.
Either way, it's a multi-course menu from 4-8 different chefs with a beer pairing.
    Here's the event from 2016:

You might notice David LeFevre as the guy who almost became an Iron Chef a couple weeks ago. The food is every bit on par with the beers, and they don't skimp. Beers have includes Fuzzy, West Ashley, Toronado 25, and Dialed In.

Friday? Friday!! No no no NO..that won't do at all. The whole week is packed with stuff. If you have to quit your job, then....food stamps taste pretty good.

But, if you insist on this Friday nonsense, check out the GABF web page . It'll have events for that week. PorchDrinking and Westword will also start listing events.:sunglasses:

Ha. I know! Damn work and family things getting in the way of us and swan diving into the greatest beer week any earlier. Unbelievable.

But I'll definitely keep my eye on those sites for events. Thanks!
