    Hello!!!

My girlfriend and I are visiting Denver for the first time and I was hoping for suggestions on good bottle shops and fun taprooms to try out. My girlfriend has Celiac Disease so I would like to try out some places with cider on tap as well. We are flying in from the Twin Cities and I would like to take back some of your tasty Colorado brews!

Thanks in advance for all the help!!!

Lots of good stops but be sure to check out Rickoli. Great beer to start with but also gluten free or eliminated. We have friends that have celiac that have enjoyed their beers in the past. If you make it further north the old mine in erie has a great tap list, amazing bottle list and great cider they brew there.

For ciders you gotta check out Stem. Hands down the best cidery around specializing in dry ciders. Some barrel aged, a couple fermented with Brett and one or 2 that is dry hopped - interesting stuff.

I will second this. They really brew some solid "gluten-reduced" brews at Brewery Rickoli! Good luck and cheers!

Station 26 Brewing produces Colorado Cream Ale, made with Scarlett barley, grown and malted in the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado and organically grown Cascade hops from Fruita, on the western slope. It is also gluten reduced, with each batch tested by White Labs to assure the gluten content is less than 10ppm. FDA Standards are anything below 20 ppm can be called Gluten Free.

Colorado Cider Company makes a cider called Grasshoppah, that I find amazing. It is dry hopped with Cascade hops and lemongrass. This is a wonderful blend. It is on tap and many bars and pubs and is available in bottles.

Both cideries in town (Colorado Cider & Stem) are doing fine work and are within sight of breweries. CO Cider is across the street from Wit's End and not very far from Prost and Strange.
Stem is about 50 yards from Epic and a short walk from River North and Black Shirt Brewing.
Both are equally good - just different.
CO Cider is more traditional with some juice re-blended while never heading into "candy cider" territory. Stem doesn't do much (any?) re-blending with juice so the ciders are very dry. They also do some interesting things with barrels and other fruits. I think they'll appeal to dry cider fans and fans of white wine, too.

Tons of info if you search this forum...too many options to even list. But bottle shops you can't go wrong with Mr. B's, Argonaut, Small Batch, Grapevine, Mile High, Mondo Vino...list is endless. Taprooms even more so, usually easier to group by where you'll be staying/hanging out. Falling Rock, Freshcraft, Hops & Pie for bars, Crooked Stave, Epic, Trve, Station 26, Comrade for breweries...and that barely scratches the surface. Seriously, do a search and you'll find more info than you could handle.

I go to Falling Rock every time I am in Denver. 94 total taps including mead and cider.

Can't go wrong and their food is above average for bar food.

I'm also heading out to Denver and Colorado Springs with my girlfriend around that same time. I know there's a ton of info on this forum, so much so that it can be overwhelming. Falling Rock is one of the few things on my absolute must do list while I'm in the area as last time I was there I was blown away, may be the best bar I've ever been to (also on my to do list was to hit up a String Cheese Incident show in their home town, but the stars didn't align). I also feel like Crooked Stave is a must, and I am a fan of Epic as well.

Like I said, I know there's a lot of info on these forums, but if y'all could pick one beer related thing to do in the city of Denver what would it be? Likewise, one beer related thing to do in Colorado Spring (if they have anything special to offer)?

Thanks in advance, your opinions are very much appreciated!

    Drink beer.... :grinning:
Well, let's see. Collaboration Fest is March 21st if you can make that
Here are a few events that week/end:

But maybe the best move is to hit Falling Rock and Freshcraft, strike up conversations with bartenders & locals--they might have some good info on the spot.

First time visitor to Denver and Boulder this upcoming weekend. I have Falling Rock, Fresh Craft, and Blackbelly Market on the list so far.
This may be a long shot, but does anyone know if Falling Rock is pouring anything from Russian River? We're staying in Boulder on Pearl. Anything in that area worth checking out?

Falling Rock usually has Pliny on tap, they did yesterday when I went for lunch. No reason they shouldn't this weekend.

Open to any cuisine. What's the local/regional specialty?

Boulder just has a ton of amazing fine dining (and also less pricey stuff). Depends on your budget, really. Frasca is amazing but will cost a few hundo. L'Atelier, Black Cat, Amu, Oak at 14th, The Kitchen, Jax, Pizzeria Locale, Zolo...there are too many to list. Lucile's is awesome for a creole brunch.
