I've never been to this, thinking about checking it out this Saturday. Only Sam Adams and Coors for an Oktoberfest doesn't sound all that appealing, but I'm sure it'll be a blast regardless.

Anyone been to this/thinking about going?

I've been in the past. It's okay, but almost every lager brewer in town does their own. I know Copper Kettle, Lone Tree, Prost, Dry Dock, and Arvada certainly are. Some are this weekend, some are next.

I have been going for the past couple of years and it is a blast. You can buy a stein for around $20 (filled) and them refills are around $8-$9, which is pretty reasonable if you ask me. Also, a lot of the bars along the street that is closed down let you bring in your stein and fill it with beers they have on tap inside. Nice deal. Stein hoisting competition, music, food, BEER, games. . . . .

For the different breweries doing Oktoberfests, it looks like Copper Kettle and Lone Tree are doing theirs today (9/22).
Prost and Dry Dock will be hosting theirs next week, with Prost's going for the entire weekend and Dry Dock's being on Saturday. I'm going to try to make it to both of 'em on consecutive days.

The event downtown is cool, but I still usually favor the small brewery versions. In particular, the one at Dry Dock is always a blast, and Prost's looks to be a no-brainer.

Libations in aurora is having a little shindig as well on the first Saturday in october. For those who have never been down there it is a little gem of a bottleshop. Went in there last week looking around and found brainless on peaches as well as most of the recent offerings from russian river just chilling there.
