    Classy moves by classy breweries.

While Odell is my go to brewery a lineup of Uncle Jacobs Stout, Oud Floris, and Odio Equum has me drooling.

I'm hitting Falling Rock first. Figured it started at 1pm so I'd get there just before that.

I just wasn't sure if a line formed and I don't want it to take 15-20 minutes to get in because of a line.

Guess I don't know the ticket count so maybe I need to rethink my plan.

Well, the line will stretch around the far corner (wazee?). They check IDs in line, and it moves steadily. I think last year they opened 5min late--a slight bummer for a limited time tasting as my first sample came at about 1:20--and I showed up 30 min prior.

Of course, bring your ticket for them to scan, instead of having to look for your name on a long-ass sheet.

The line is long, but it moves pretty fast. The last couple of years, we have arrived about 15 minutes before it started and the line was around the block. Once the doors opened, we were inside in 5-10 minutes.

I arrived 30 minutes early last year and was in the door in maybe 10 minutes. Probably the same plan this year.

I am attempting a very poor late run at getting a ticket. If anyone has an extra, I'm downstairs at the entrance hoping to pick one off. I can't stay the full time, but if it's sunk cost I have $60...not the best, I know, but if it's a good fit come find me!

I had a great time as a volunteer. I was mainly pouring for Left Hand (the 2009 Oak Aged Impy Stout), but got to try most everything. Lost Abbey Track 8, Laurelwood Cardinal Sin, Allagash Avance, and Lil Opal (and Sucaba) from Firestone were my faves. Even though I was pouring for them, I was pretty surprised how good the LH stout was compared with some of the big names. It's an all-star beer that people started catching wind of later in the event.

I was a first time attendee this year that had a blast. I got there right at 1 and got in by about 1:15. I go upstairs to get my first pour of Lost Abbey Track 8 from who else but Tomme himself! The beer was fantastic and it was so nice to see so many brewers out there. The pours were huge, so my friend and I split everything so that we could try more. DFH had a huge line the whole time and I happen to have a bottle of Raison D'Xtra at home so we passed on that. Outside of that, the only beers that kicked before we tasted were Lil Opal, and the Avery table.

From what we tried, my favorites were a combination of beers I expected to wow me, and beers I never saw coming. Allagash Avance, Sam Adams Utopias, and Great Divide Brett Meet Colette were all amazing, but my favorite of the day might have been Perennial's BA Fantastic Voyage. I'd never heard of these guys but they had me coming back for seconds and thirds after I made my rounds. Plus, their brewer revealed they may be coming to DC soon and that a small bottle run of the batch they brought may be coming out soon. The event was its first tasting ever.

Thanks so much for the brewers, Pints for Prostates, and the fellow attendees for a great day of beer.
