Awesome line-up. Always one of my favorite events. The fact that they've had Breck BBQ for the last couple of years doesn't hurt, too...

I kinda wonder how a new brewery has rare beers. But I guess simply because they are new the beer is rare. :astonished:

when you have connections to Great Divide and you are in the host city it does wonders. that is if we are both thinking about the same place.

We do sometimes take "calculated risks" by inviting new breweries that we have discovered and think our guests would enjoy. In the past these newbies with relatively short corporate histories have included the likes of Elevation Beer, NoDa Brewing, River North Brewery and Wicked Weed Brewing. Many people discovered these brands for the first time at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting. Our primary goal is not to introduce new brands, but we think this year's brewery list has a nice mix of craft beer legends and new companies that are making a name for themselves.

In the past breweries (new and old) have brewed or saved beers just for this event. That's probably the idea. Casey B&B hasn't been around that long and I have a feeling people will probably be lined up for anything and everything he shows up with. The Spangalang guys have solid chops, too. I bet they'll bring something solid.

I'm very excited to see what Hoppin' Frog and Verboten bring...
ended up in the Denver drunk tank because I slammed a bunch of B.O.R.I.S's before I left on Thursday night. Made it to Rare Beer in the nick of time. Love the new venue (missed 2013), breck BBQ, and of course the barrel-aged Sump!

I think the biggest perk is getting inside 30min (or an hour) before the rest of the peasants. :astonished:

How many tickets can be purchased by a user when they go on sale? I have a fairly large sized group that is planning on attending and just wondering how many people will need to purchase them. 2 per max? 4? Thanks for any input

To accommodate groups that travel to Colorado for the GABF, our policy sets the maximum ticket sale at 10 per email address. Sales are fairly brisk the first day and the VIP tickets go pretty quickly. In the past the event has typically sold out several weeks in advance. Thanks for the support. We look forward to seeing you on Sept. 25.

Tickets go on sale on Sunday, June 21 at 10 a.m. (MT). Here is the link to order tickets: http://www.etix.com/ticket/v/10492/mcnichols-civic-center-building

Don't underestimate this benefit. I attended this event several years ago (want to say 2011?) and several of the beers I wanted to try kicked very, very early. I've heard that availability has improved since then, but you may not want to chance it.

Some of the ones from FW disappeared really quick, although they usually bring several. Even as a volunteer working 2 booths away I missed one of their sours. It was gone in something like 30 minutes. That's really unusual, though. Most breweries bring enough to make it through the majority of the event.

Definitely going VIP again... Love buying the tickets right away because by the time the event rolls around I have no recollection of actually paying for it. Makes an already amazing event feel free!!

Hope so. Looks like last year's call for volunteers came out 8/1. I am guessing you could email Rick directly, too.
