Got an interview coming up in Denver- will be coming in January 17 in the morning and leaving January 19 in the morning as well.

I already know I want to visit Crooked Stave for sure on January 18 after my interview. I'll be done by 2PM, so I'm sure that will leave plenty of time to enjoy the afternoon and maybe even dinner at CS. Even though I've done a search here, I'd like to solicit specific opinions on what else ought I check out while I'm there. Bottle shops, bars, etc? I should have time to hit up another place after Crooked Stave. Thinking maybe Great Divide, but not sure if the other places (Hogshead, Prost, etc.) would be a better option in terms of unwinding and drinking some awesome beers on tap?

And any bottleshop recommendations would be excellent of course since I'm flying Southwest. (As an aside, I can bring a styroshipper full of BBPT5 and BB4D so if you're interested in doing a IP trade in that timeframe, lets talk!)

And of course, do you guys expect to get Pliny the Younger on draft in February, and if so, when would you expect it? The wife and I may consider coming back for a "Second Look" type thing in early February and I would certainly like to time it around the Pliny the Younger release.

    Cheers!

Pliny the Younger is basically a brewery only release (Santa Rosa, CA) with select accounts in the Bay Area getting kegs. I doubt you will be able to find it in Denver.

If you have access to a car, Avery Brewing is in Boulder and I had a great time there. Falling Rock had great beers but super shitty service so its up to you as if it's worth it.

Yeah we definitely get a few kegs of Younger each February, or at least we have for a while.

We get kegs of Pliny The Younger all over the state (Ft. Collins, Denver, Boulder, etc.) and every year, don't see why things would change. Seems like early Feb, but not sure of exact date. Planning a trip around it would be tough because it's SO limited and goes very fast!

Yeah, we'll almost certainly get the Younger again but it's hard to know who will have it and when they'll get it. In Denver, the odds are really good that Freshcraft and the Cheeky Monk will have it. Hops and Pie is also likely to have it. It's guaranteed to be at the Falling Rock. After that, it's tough to say. Some places that got it in previous years didn't get any last year.
The places that did have it usually don't have much knowledge or control of when the kegs arrive. Most pre-planned their tappings with only a few days notice.

Backcountry Pizza in Boulder announced on facebook the other day that they will have the younger early Feb.

The best thing you can do is to continuously call all these places, especially Falling Rock, and ask about PtY. They love it!

They always put it out on a Sunday and I've found is the easiest place to get this beer.

If there are any guarantees of anyone getting it. It's these guys and falling rock.

Had it at Boulder Strong Ale Festival last year; not sure if they'll have it this year, though.

We usually end up with about 10 kegs or so, spread out to 10 bars, who tap it at random times, sometimes with just a few hours notice. It's pretty tough to plan a trip around.

Unless you're there early to get a ticket or save a place in line, it's usually gone in a few minutes.
