Any chance trading for a bottle of any Derivation? I believe these are onsite consumption only. Not sure if bottles get out and if it’s possible to trade for one. I’m sure they trade high and hard if so. Any ideas of what it would take to trade for one? Thanks for your input!

Some of the bottles do make into the wild, but as you said, it will take A LOT regardless of which one. It is also worth noting that some will take substantially more than others, depending on which one you are looking for. Currently the one that seems to be most readily available (and I use that very loosely) to trade for is Derivation 10, but you will still need a hell of a beer, or combo of beers, to even garner interest.

I was thinking these 3 bottles. 18’ Westly,
13’ Damon, and 18’Aaron. You think this is enough to land one?

It's tough for me to say because I just haven't seen many (if any really) Derivation 10 trades completed on Beer Advocate. I only roughly know what the (dreaded) secondary prices are, and they are quite substantial. Your inquiry would get better exposure if you posted it in the Trade Value Thread: https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...vt-quarter-4-2018.589778/page-16#post-6331091

Perhaps someone there has traded or seen Derivation 10 traded for, and would be able to provide you with better indication of whether your 3 bottles are enough or what a good starting point would be.

I saw D10 offered for 2x Maman '18 and that closed very fast. Previous derivations like D8 are closer to 4-5 Mamans, but they never trade for quantity. For what it takes to land one, it's probably more worth it to drive to St Louis when they have them on tap various times during the year.

For what it's worth Ive had D9 and D10 recently. D9 was easily a top 10 stout for me. Huge flavor, lovely barrel and mouthfeel. D10 was a huge letdown after trying D9. Not sure if it was just the (Rum) barrel or what but entirely different class. I wouldn't go too hard after 10.

D10 is good but was somewhat of a let down for me too, and I'm definitely not alone which makes it the one that can be traded for the "easiest" Your 2013 Damon should be worth quite a bit. Check out the STL Craft Burrito Facebook page and post it. See what happens. You might get a hit.

Definitely have to bring out the big guns for any bottle of derivation. This week someone offered KBBS b4 + BBT b2 + Oude du ble 2017 for a D7 on the STL craft burrito page and it never closed.

Because there are probably less than 10 D7s in the wild and anybody who has one most likely has multiple BBTs and OdB is still available.
