Des Moines area craft beer map

    I'm working on simple map that shows DSM area breweries/brewpubs, breweries in progress, homebrew supply shops, specialty beer bars and bottle shops along with relevant information for each location when the location is clicked.

    Please take a look and let me know if you think there is anything I should add. I might expand this beyond Des Moines, but for now will focus on the metro.

    What about an LHBS that is also a bottle shop? :wink: Looks good. Feel free to expand to Eastern IA.

    I didn't put on ALL HyVee locations, but pinpointed the main ones that have a nicer selection of craft offerings. I'm also looking to add more specialty beer bars, so if anyone has any I missed, let me know.

    Also, I nee dot figure out how to get locations that have 2 pinpoints at the same spot (i.e. - Royal Mile and Red Monk OR Altus Brewing and Wing Nutt Brewing both located in Altoona) to display easier. Right now, there is just a hard to find 1/2 scroll bar thing to switch between the dual locations pinpoints when you click on the attribute box. It's hard to find. Would be nice to get a spot that has dual locations to "explode" out both points when clicked.

    Will be going to Firetrucker, possibly 515 and Pleasant Hill HyVee tonight! I do love visiting the parents in PHill.

    How about adding Ames, we have a new brewery opening today - Alluvial. Torrent opened last month, and we have one other one, name escapes me. Cyclone Liquor is a great bottle shop and now also doing tastings and Growler fills in the new Cellar626 in the back of the building. We have several bars really supporting craft and local beer - Dublin Bay and Cafe Beaudelaire. Welch Avenue Station is also featuring craft handles and occasionally Es Tas as well.

    Cool project. Something helpful would be to add a taplister or beermenus link to bars that update those things frequently.

    I was debating how far to branch out and for now, kept it pretty much DSM Metro. I agree, Adel and further outlying metro areas (Twisted Vine in St. Charles) could easily be added.
    Will branch out to Ames I think as well. Will then have to rename to "Central Iowa Craft Beer map", but that's OK.

    Really solid place. It was a total hole in the wall (in the best kind of way) during my time at Drake with great food, and the current Full Court Press ownership has taken it to the next level. Great tap list, solid food. The FCP way.
