Deschutes Fresh Squeezed

It's alright. I think I'm just spoiled by the amount of incredible IPA/DIPAs in this area. Fresh Squeezed didn't really stand out for me that past few times I bought a sixer of it, which sucks because a name like "Fresh Squeezed" is exactly what I love in IPA's (bold, juicy).

 

The only time I have had this it was fairly old so I feel like I should really try a fresh bottle before judging it.

 

Same here. Citra and Mosaic are my jam (see Todd the Axeman), but for some reason Fresh Squeezed just never does it for me. I've had it in bottles, and on tap at several places, months apart, but it always is completely and utterly underwhelming for me. Perhaps if I could try it from the source I would like it better...

Love this beer. I brought this, Pliny, and Sculpin back with me from my Cali trip this summer (along with some sours). Absolutely love both the hop and malt profiles of this beer. I'll be doing a homebrew clone later this year to get my fix.

 

Anybody know how far out from bottling the best by dates are for this one? I haven't picked up any for a while because I was assuming 6 months, so most stuff has looked pretty old around here.

 

Fantastic beer, I wish I could get it all the time.

 

Haven't seen new batches around here lately either. I think the best by dates have been 9/25 or 9/27.

 

Have always loved IPAs but I remember the first time I tried this when it came out in bombers it blew my mind. I still consider it nearly perfect as far as IPAs go. Only one that tops it is probably some super fresh two hearted.

 

Currently in my top ten IPA's.
Always been my favorite from this brewery.
And my current favorite from the state of Oregon.

 

If they make Chasin' Freshies (w/Mosaic) like they did last year, you'll have a new favorite IPA from Deschutes...

 

Anybody else having trouble finding this lately? It's a go to of mine, but nowhere to be found lately.

That being said, I did pick up their Pinedrops for the first time this weekend. It is to Pine what Fresh Squeezed is to Citrus. Excellent beer.

 

I am fortunate, and appreciate that I can readily get my hands on Fresh Squeezed. But you're right -- availability kills the overall rating, which I type as I drink a soon-to-be-average-rated-Brew-Hub-brewed bottle of Pseudo Sue.

For me its banana beer. probably just my taste but I dont prefer this at all.

 

Good Beer and Relativly easy to come by.

 

I really like this beer but they don't distribute to Florida so I very rarely get it. If I could get this it would be a staple in my fridge. it all the time

 

I recently had a conversation with a friend about this beer.
We both love it on tap, not so much from the bottle. She's been drinking it from the bottle where I typically pour it into a glass, but it's a totally different taste for me.
I'm not one to look at dates on beer, so I don't know how fresh the bottles are, but I absolutely love this beer on tap. And the fact that it's a go-to for me when I want something hoppy without being Surly or Summit, this is usually what I get.

 

fresh squeezed is one of my favorites. i'm pretty sure i'm the only reason why my local liquor store carries it, and i buy it often enough that i know that the bottles are always fresh
