Seriously. OP could easily spend a week in WA or OR alone and barely scratch the surface. One day on the coast hitting De Garde and the breweries in Astoria, two days in Bend, one day in Hood River, and three days in Portland.

Alternativey, three days in the Seattle area, one day in Bellingham, one day in/around Olympia, and then two days to make the loop around the Olympic pennisula.

Either way, there's no possible way to hit even a fraction of the places worth visiting in a week if you try to spread the trip over the entire west coast.

You all are right, there are far too many to choose from, plans will have to be adjusted. Everyone has been to San Diego, so maybe a northern Cali to Oregon. Or maybe the Florida trip. We'll figure this out

I'd say hit up Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho for a few days. Then shoot over to Belgium to really make you question what you were doing in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho.

The drive to Texas will be long but, you said road trip and I can't think of a better way do do it than across Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Jester King!

Ideal beer trip would combine a trip home to see family, and a visit to Mark's house to drink his beer. Then on to upstate NY to visit my son, there I can hit up Tom and Ross and get into his IPA stash, being a guest he would break out his best stuff. If Ben wasn't so far out a trip there for Ohio IPA's would be great, I'd gladly be obliged to help drink down the cellar. A round trip of well over 1500 miles, and great beer free.

What about going to big beer fest somewhere? Portland has a big one you can go to and sample a bunch then travel to Bend OR, Eugene OR and Northern California. Might be best way to sample a good amount of beer in fewer stops.

I've been seriously considering doing one of the Belgian Brewery Bike Tours... Anyone have any experience with BeerCycling or ExperiencePlus?

These three states along I- 294 would make a great trip. Contact the breweries and enjoy .

Yep. Bellingham to Eugene/Bend and Northern Cali to SoCal are each trips in themselves for sure.

I think I'd fly into PDX, high-tail it out to Bend for a couple days. Back to Portland either via Hood River or Salem. Leave time for another day trip out to de Garde. The rest of the time just stumbling between breweries in Portland.

better option: go to Boston and hit up Trillium for the best APA's known to man and if ('IF") you have time/haven't spent the last 7 days in Boston head west to Tree House and experience beer euphoria.

Add Allagash, Bissell and Foundation when you are that close to Portland. Do Vermont during the week and Portland Friday/Saturday as Bissell and Foundation are not home during the early portion of the week.

    Between Option 1 and 2, I would go with option 2
