Despot Day 2016

I agree. The big rectangle is the main barn with the bottom (where the heated tents are) being what you will see when driving up. The small space between the 2 tents is where the door is for staff probably. The water bottles and guest taps are on the back of the building. Just seems to me they are trying to cram everything right around the barn. They have a ton of open space and I have been to releases where there is one beer truck out in the field behind the barn. Food trucks were also parked out in the field behind the barn. The way this setup is there is probably going to be a line making it clustered when people are tryiing to get through to the tents, beer trucks, merch, etc. My opinion is it's just going to be a lot of people jammed into a somwhat tight space to access everything.

 

What are poeple's thoughts on Hide the Despot? Are you planning on buying it? Do you think you'll be able to notice a difference? I'm like 85% expecting it to taste just like regular Despot, or maybe a subtle difference. I still haven't decided if I'm going to buy or not.

 

I'm getting it but I'm in the same boat as you. I'm splitting my allotment with a friend, and my variants+1 bottle are being saved for a share in the future, so I'll have very little Hide, but I expect they will be very similar. There's a chance a buddy comes with me Saturday (if another friend who can't make it now can get the ticket transferred to his name if it's not too late) and he said he'll probably open a Hide that night if that's the case, but we will see.

 

I'm going to buy one, mostly just because I want to try it.
I'm agree with you, I am not totally convinced it will be that much different but I figure I am going to despot day, I have the ticket, I might as well try them all.

 

I get the impression that there's not as much buzz around this release as previous years. Anyone else feel that way, or am I just out of touch?

Still curious if anyone is interested in meeting for any IP trades tomorrow. Just seems like a good chance to save on shipping and be social.

Some updates.....

LCCB posted their draw of Awaken was not enough to keg so no Awaken or Hide on Draft. Enough did make it into bottles to meet all ticket holders allotment.

I actually have a full car coming down! Only 2 of us have tickets, the rest are just coming to have some fun and enjoy some beers

It's a shame yet another variant is off the list of taps, but oh well, seems there will be plenty of good beer anyway

 

Hey Moonbrew--I sent you a message.

 

Looks like those who did not get a ticket for bottles MAY still come away with some. Post by LCCB on their event page, "We will begin selling the bottles that are left over from allotment at 7." And if I am reading into this correctly those who do have allotment tickets may want to definitely plan to arrive before 7 to grab your bottles.

 

That would make sense, since there are specific pick up time windows. Miss the window, bottles go unclaimed.

 

I agree with that but it also goes back on one of their previous comments. Someone asked them when the ticket process was announced if they were running late for their 4-6 window could they still get bottles as long as they showed up before their close at 9 and they said yes. But I'm with you. Ticket holders need to show up in their time slot (or by the last slot at 6pm) or they lose out.

 

I know its late to be asking this, but how do tickets work with bpt? I just went on "my tickets" and it says I don't have any tickets, even though I have an email receipt sying I purchased one. Is it just will call where they have my name and I show ID?
