Great event on the farm, I tried four Despot pins, and never waited more than 5 mins for anything. No line for bottle pick up, unless you stood there at the beginning of your group, everything should be that easy.

I got one of each of the variants today, no ticket needed. Only one pin today though, chocolate-strawberry.

So to those who went, were the stouts still overhopped or have they toned it down a bit? What was you favorite bottled or pinned variant?

For those who enjoy west coast stouts, aka Shakespeare, I'm not trying to be offensive...

Very very hopped, which is kinda disappointing. That being said, I had pours of vanilla, apple cinnamon, and chocolate jalapeno (pin). Vanilla was very hoppy but still had good amounts of vanilla (noticeable unlike the bottle I had shared with me back in august). Apple cinnamon was fantastic and way better than expected (kinda upset I only got 1 bottle instead of 2 now), the flavors masked the hops a bit. The choc. jalapeno pin was similar -- good flavors (though lots of jalapeno, some might not like that) that helped mask some of the hoppiness.

Of the 3 I tried, apple cinnamon was probably my favorite.

Despot is consistent, they are hoppy stouts out of the gate for sure. Doesn't seem to me it has changed much.

I tried the first four pins: donut, choc jalapeno, vanilla hazelnut, and chocolate pb crunch. The donut was sweet as you'd expect, and the chocolate jalapeno was good, but definitely had some heat, the half pour was all I needed. The vanilla hazelnut was outstanding, both flavors came through well, and the pb crunch was the most disappointing thing I had all day, it felt like reg despot.
Agree with ninjembro, the new variant was good, I am not a big cinnamon fan so I was hesitant, but it was far more apple than cinnamon which worked well for me.

Definitely a well run event based on when I visited Sunday afternoon. Showed up a little before 3pm. For being a Sunday I was surprised how many cars there were even though it was Despot Weekend but did expect a good turnout. Definitely easy going though. Was nice to see a good number of people there. Barely a wait to grab pours or bottles. The only Despot they had left was regular and then the chocolate strawberry pin. I was bummed they did not still have the guest taps on since there were a couple I wanted to try. Seemed pretty easy to get bottles if you wanted more though. The guy is front of me wanted to modify his full allotment and he was allowed to sub out something he didn't want for extras of another. I did overhear Farris telling the guy about a bottle club so expect news about that to come out in the future. I was also surprised they shut the bay door where the bottles were located a little after 4:30 since they didn't close until 6. Granted, they did say the Sunday ticket time was Noon-4pm but I figured that would be just so people didn't try to hustle up right before closing to grab stuff. Looked like they still had a good number of cases left and a good number of people still there when we left around 5pm so would have thought they would have kept the bottle/merchandise sales going in case people wanted to grab something as they were leaving and for LCCB to get a little extra $$.

I have no personal info, but they said today on social media there was none left for sale / going out to bottle retail, fwiw.

That is interested. I'm sure what they had out behind the table was more for show and they likely had other cases in the cooler but the not going out to distro is likely they just have too few cases to really have that make sense. I'm not sure how much ended up after the shit the doors but when I was last by the table before leaving there was probably a handful of each still sitting out. I did also overhear them say they were pretty tight with extra bottles after pre-sale tickets. Maybe they will just hold on to them for special release throughout the year.

I heard this too. The guy in front of me got a full allotment and they told him that they would like to get his email so they could get him send him info on their bottle club. I didn't hear much detail other than something about getting 12 bottles a year and guaranteed allotments of some of their releases.
