what beer style would you choose if you were stuck on a dessert island?

for me it would be IPA! the fruity hops would go so well in the heat and match nicely with all the tropical fruit!

    whats your dessert island style?

Does the dessert island have to be made out of tropical fruit, or can it be, say, chocolate cake? In that case I'd like a nice RIS.

I could also enjoy a nice rich Bourbon-barrel Barleywine on an island made of vanilla custard, or perhaps a tart fruit Lambic to pair with an island made out of strawberry shortcake...

I think I would just eat the Island.....maybe ferment part of the island into some sort of fruit wine island lol

I suppose if I were stuck on a desert island, I would love me some GI Fluer. Something about that beer, it's so damn refreshing and drinkable

If I was looking at a dessert island, it would tiramisu.
If I was looking for a DESERT island beer, just one style of beer, it would be a saison. THere's so much variation within that that I wouldn't get bored.

I'm glad about four people beat me to the punch—but personally, I think I'd get a stomach ache pretty quickly on that island and then I wouldn't have it in my to get any good beer down.

Since everyone already busted your chops on the misspell (which was my agenda, too), I'll go ahead and say Saison. My favorite style, and if I'm wasting away on a desert island (wait....am I wasting away?? Is there food? Is my family coming? Are there scary islanders out for blood?!!), I can't think of any beer I'd rather drink.

Surly Hell would be a close second....I haven't had a lot of it, but that's something I could just crush all day long on this creepy, lonely island of yours.

Is the island deserted or just a desert climate? Desert climate, I'd want a weissbier, deserted I'd want zombie dust, two hearted, something like that.

Not beer on a dessert island. But an 1811 d'Yquem would be just perfect.

For a dessert island, Southern Tier Creme Brulee Stout would be a no-brainer.

Saison for sure! Love me so IPAs and more so DIPAs, but Saison = summer time, with summer time heat for me.

If water was in short supply, I'd go for the lowest ABV sessions beers (I guess there's going to be an unlimited supply - there are boats bringing supplies in, but I'm not allowed to leave, on this hypothetical island). If there's plenty of fresh water, I might go for high abv stouts - unfiltered, so I can get maximum nutrition. These might also be better if the only cooling option is the cave where I have to get by the giant spider.

If all other wants are taken care of and it's just a matter of only having one style for the rest of my life, I'm with the Saison choosing people (as long as I get some pick on what Saisons I get).
