Heading back home to Illinois for a funeral and plan on stopping into my ole college stomping grounds (Normal, IL) and heading to Destihl. Looked at the FB page and they haven't updated their taplist since June 25th. Any suggestion for what to drink and also, can you bring growlers to fill or must you buy from them? Any help appreciated.
I would recommend any of the reserve sours...if they have one on. their regular rotating beers are nothing to write home about, but damn their sours are good. I'm not 100% sure on the growlers, but if my memory serves me right they do fill other brewery's growlers.
Check Facebook. They just posted a tap list yesterday. The have one sour on tap, and I think you can get growlers of it but its like $60.
I just stopped in a couple of weeks ago for the first time. They didn't have any of their sour beers on. I tried maybe half a dozen samplers of their regular stuff. Nothing was amazing, but nothing was bad either. They only fill their own growlers. You can re-fill them, but they won't fill growlers from other breweries. Pretty lame, but I don't know if that's their own policy or some sort of municipal regulation issue.
