My wife and I will be in Destin next month. We're looking for one or two good beer bars and a place to get good beer. We saw there's a McGuire's there and also the Chan's Wine world. What are other must visit places? We're from MS so we don't have a lot of variety. We're not just looking for rare to find in FL stuff.
Chans Wine World for sure. I used to be the beer guy there. Great beer selection and I hear they have taps now.
thanks for the tip, I posted about going to Destin and just got crickets! We will be going their for sure! Also want to try the Mellow Mushroom, do you have any other suggestions for the area?
Mellow Mushroom was pretty good. As for bars there wasn't too much that were too amazing. McGuires Irish Pub has some good beer. Other than that not much going on. And yeah the Destin BA(Panhandle in general) crowd was pretty non existent.
People on the tripadvisor forum mention something called Miller's Ale House. Looks like another chain. Do any of the local restaurants have decent beer? Maybe a good seafood place?
Miller's is a chain. You may find some Stone there on tap and one or two others on occasion but generally there taps are dominated by bmc. I travel there a couple of times a year and havent found much to speak of. Have fun on the trip though its a beautiful beach town. If your going soon weather looks great.
Thanks. We're only going because that's where the convention is. We're not beach people, I just don't get it. I don't need sand up my ass and I really hate crowds. It looks like people are stacked up like sardines down there. We'll hit up Chan's for sure. I was hoping somewhere with some seafood had some decent craft beer.
I just found a bar that has 26 taps of mostly non BMC brews. Dockside Ale House. It looks like they're working on their website but they have a facebook page. Looks like a cool place. I may check it out. Just wanted to provide some info for BAs out there.
