Looking for a little info on the area. I am headed down that way in about 2 weeks. I searched through old threads and their did not seem to be much on this area. It looks like my options are Chan's Wine World of Publix for bottle shops and the bar options are so-so. Does Cigar City make it over that way or no? Any info would be great.

I'm not in the area all that much, but Wine Worlds in the area are your best bets. There's three - FWB, Destin, and Miramar Beach (east of Destin). CCB makes it here, but you'll mostly find Jai Alai or White Cracker. There also might be some one-offs like White Oak or HOTHS floating around. I never been there personally, but there's a local brewpub called Props in FWB right next to a Publix.

I was there this past fall. Chan's Wine World does the trick - they had big displays for Jai Alai and Florida Cracker, and also some Brew Bus stuff. Good selection overall and they have a bar in there too. Props was decent and does the trick for a local brewpub.

Nice, thanks for the tips. I am flying into Pensecola so if their are any good bottles shops that could be an option too, but wont be sticking around for breweries or bars.

Two bottle shops by the airport - Richey's East and Four Winds International Market. You can find both JA and WC at Richey's but the JA there is a little dated (1/21/14). Four Winds has a nice import selection, but the mark up is super crazy. Also, the owner and employees will try to up sell you anything and everything. I think they still have JA in Four Winds and they're dated 2/28/14 but stupid expensive.

I also like the Beach's Liquor in FWB. Another plus is they share a parking lot with Props Brewpub, so you can kill two birds with one stone. Beach's also has taps and sells growlers. I'm in town about once a month for orchestra gigs in either Destin or FWB. I'm not usually with "beer" people, so I haven't hit the bar scene much. We usually end up at whatever is closest to the hotel they put us in. Sometimes we hit McGuire's or Props.

Good to hear. Is the date pretty clear on the JA cans? Although the date is getting more common on beers sometimes the stamp is not to legible.

the date is stamped right on the bottom of the cans, and is 95% of the time quite legible.
