    Anyone else planning on attending the Polar Beer Club even in Royal Oak, MI this coming weekend? Or has anyone been in the past?

    My wife and I will be attending, and I'm very much looking forward to it (even though an actual beer list has yet to be posted).

    Never been before. Planning to attend with a couple of neighbors this year. Looking for a beer list myself.

    My wife and some coworkers are going. I'm not sure if I believe there will be a good enough list to pay the ticket price. But, I've never talked to anyone who has been. I just have a weird hunch. I'm probably wrong

    That beer fest is usually pretty weak. The better one was last weekend called Royal Oak Winter Beer Fest. Such a solid taplist and your ticket goes to a good cause (Camp Casey).

    That's usually my thought for events like this. I'm banking on people being too lazy to collect tickets and then it becomes a bit less selective in the tastings. That, and I pre-bought tickets when they were $10-15 off before xmas.

    Nope, but just put 'Royal Oak Winter Beer Fest' into Facebook and it'll pop right up.

    Apparently my wife had found that one too, but I didn't think to search FB for it. We didn't find any other information so we chose the upcoming event instead. Looks like we'll be doing that one next year. Any other thoughts on other events throughout the year?

    Still no beer list for this one, which is a bit worrisome.

    This. I don't trust anything else unless I hear otherwise from a reliable source. It isnt that they are bad, just not worth it to me. If you go to other festivals you just have to go in with an open mind. They might not have any "rare" beers people on here look for at festivals, it is what it is.

    Thanks to you both for the info. I'm still very much looking forward to this festival even if it's 'normal' beers only (I'm intrigued by what the "limited releases" will be). If could be generic craft beer and my wife and I will have a blast regardless. And it's close to home! :wink:

    Looks like the weather shouldn't be too terrible either, which is great for pre and post activities.

    Also, to be fair, this year is apparently only the second one. So maybe things can only get better from last year before we can say 'usually'?

    If anyone has a ticket and decided not to go (or an extra), send me a message. I procrastinated and it sold out of regular tix. Without a published beer list (still....wtf), I'm hesitant to pay an extra $20 for vip.

    Yeah I didn't even think to check for the other RO event.

    I'm excited to finally try some Witch's Hat and there are at least a handful that I'm hoping to try first. Not a stellar list, but far from terrible.
