I'm heading out to Chicago this weekend. Gonna hit up Binny's for sure but wanted to see if there are any other suggestions for good beer stores in the city. Also, thinking about hitting FFF's Brewpub on the way back. Any chance I'll find zombie dust?

Re: ZD at the Brewpub - it's pretty much always on tap, so if you just want to try it you should be good. I think you'll be out of luck if you're looking for bottles to go, however.

If you have time, I'd hit the hop leaf. Absolutely perfect setting.

FYI if you're set on Zombie Dust and don't mind trying it on tap, use www.beermenus.com and check the bars in Chicago, because some should have it.

As for good beer stores in the city, try Binny's in Lincoln Park, the Beer Temple and West Lakeview Liquors. LP Binny's also has a pretty sweet taproom, so try ducking in there real quick, if you can.

Also, Goose Island Clybourn just "premiered" one of my favorite beers of theirs yesterday, Raisin in the Sun (I had it a couple months back at their 26th anniv. party). If you're Bourbon County fan, I highly recommend checking said beer out, as it's on par with their variants.

you have to check the FFF website, and be prepared to wait in line if it is available! my last visit was 2 hrs in line at 1:30 on a Friday.

Stop at 18th Street in Miller (Gary). Just north of US20 on Miller Av. Great stuff and it's not far out of your way from 94.

Another option in Mi. is the Roundbarn public house in Baroda. Good beer and awesome food, especially the pizza.

Thanks michman, we ended up staying at the Palomar on Grand & State. I got a chance to try some FFF, among others, although we didn't make it to the brew pub. I hit a few liquor stores: the Binny's on Grand Ave, plus the one N. Marcey. That's the biggest damn liquor store I've ever seen...

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I'll post updates later.

    Cheers!
