You'll actually be pretty far north on Woodward, just north of New Center. It's a bummer because there's a few choice places opening up in midtown soon that would be perfect for post-wedding parties (HopCat and Jolly Pumpkin being a couple of them). Regardless, there's tons of places in midtown you can go to. Traffic Jam Snug, Motor Brewing Works, Old Miami and plenty of other bars in midtown that are a blast. If you are staying downtown at the Marriott RenCen though, I just recommend heading to Foran's Grand Trunk and kickin it there all night. Uber will be your friend to get around as it is very reliable and cheaper than cabs.

Amen. Their food is way too overhyped. Go across the street for a burger at Mecury and late night for a huge selection of craft beer at Slows. They should just call the place Slow's Beer and have BBQ on the side.

As for bottle shops, it's a hike from the Ren-Cen but Wyandotte's Discount Drinks and Dearborn's Merchants Fine Wine are both great. (Edit: Looks like you guys beat me to the punch.)
