Finally hit the Charlotte area! Just picked me up a 4pk from Brawleys. May haul this to the weekends festivities. Any other beer that this compares to for those that have already tried it?

Deviant Dale's reminds me of somewhat of SN's Hoptimum and a lot of Green Flash Palate Wrecker. It's a an assertive beer that has a lot of hop flavor and aroma without overwhelming levels of bitterness. It's one of my favorites right now. The only downside is that it's $14-15 a 4 pack around here. Not sure what it costs elsewhere, it's in pint cans, so that offsets the expense to an extent.

I also picked iPa 4 pack myself in high point. $13. Looking forward to it this weekend.

A much better deal than Gubna, which I like less and is around the same price for smaller cans

DD has been in Fort Mill for 3 weeks, only 5 mins south of the CLT!! Had it last night and it's quite tasty.

I agree. I prefer Deviant Dale's to Gubna which hasn't got enough hop flavor or aroma to balance the malt and hop bitterness.

The rest of the state can't possibly be that far behind... I assume you just mean the cans as opposed to draft right?

Not the rest of the state, we've had it longer than 3 weeks for sure, in fact I've gone through a couple of stacks and used it as my car wash brew several times!! I thought you guys had it a long time ago:slight_frown:, enjoy!!

I meant SC. Charleston has had it for a while, surprised it took so long for Fort Mill.

Even Greenville has had it for quite some time...

    Fort Mill,

Get with Charlotte and up your game. Your making the rest of us look bad.

just popped open my 2nd can, this one is very nice. And after my pour I noticed some very familiar song lyrics at the top of the can. BIG hats off to OB for that one!

I had this on draft when kegs first hit NC. It was ok, but IMO it doesn't hold a candle to Hoptimum. DevD is a bit rougher around the edges and seems more piney/minty than Hoptimum (juicy citrus/tropical fruits).

BTW, Can we agree on DevD for a shortcut? Most everyone already uses DD for Devil Dancer! :grinning:
