According to the e-mail that Greg sent out two weeks ago to Club members, it is available to the public starting today (I re-checked it this am). It was fantastic, enjoy!

I was there with you, but not checking my phone/BA. What'd you think?

I stopped by about 8:15 last night. Glad they were still open. I had dropped off my growler on Sunday for them to fill in the event I wasn't able to get there and Mike was happy to assist. Had a pour of it last night and thought it was fantastic. Maybe would like a bit more barrel but the coffee in it was great. Will be bringing the growler to DLD and I might stop by to get another fill before the weekend. Mike said that they went through 1.5 kegs last night.

Double confirmation. I would expect it will last until at least the weekend since pours are only 5oz.

I'm planning (maybe) to bring my growler to DLD as well. Depends on if it ends up being consumed tomorrow night.

Any idea how much of it there is?

Sorry I missed you Quimby. I thought I saw you right before I left, but the wife was bugging me about getting home, so I had to go. As for the beer, I thought it was very, very good. Agree it could have used a bit more barrel, but with Deviate's space limitations and need to keep their taps full, they just can't let stuff sit in barrels for 9 months. But as others have said, the coffee flavor was excellent. Frankly, I thought it was right on par with KBS for my taste...

I was hoping someone could help me out with a few questions. I will be arriving in Indianapolis tomorrow and really had this place as a must visit, however, I will have a teenage kid with me and was hoping to get some beer to go.

Do you have to be in the drinking club to be eligible to get a growler filled? If you don't need to be in drinking club, will they fill growlers from other breweries? and are all beers available for growler fills?

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help me out with these answers.

They will fill any growler you bring in. That said, for non-club members, the standing rule is that you can only get fills of Hop Supremacy, which is their single IPA that they constantly have different versions of on. Right now, it is simcoe and chinook.

The owners of Deviate are great people. If you aren't able to get in there for a little bit just to grab a sampler, it would at least be worth calling to explain your situation (coming in from out of town, will have a kid with you, etc) and see if you they could help you out by filling a 32oz growler with one of their normally restricted items. Additional thought, they have a "hillbilly patio" now. I assume kids aren't allowed to hang there either but maybe...could be worth asking.

I can confirm no under-21 inside or on the patio. As the Mayor of Deviate mentioned, Supremacy is the only growler fill for non-members at the moment. You can try to convince them to fill something else but they are typically stern on this. Maybe you can get creative and try a few samples and get them to put a pour or two of something in a growler and charge glass price? They also can be bribed with good out of town beer.

    They will fill any growler.

I really enjoyed the glass of "Cask of '43" I had today. Also, don't miss out on the "Orange Sherbert" Imperial IPA. Compares favorably to some of the fruit IPAs on the market today like Grapefruit Sculpin, etc.

Thanks for all the advice. I was able to make it there and sample all the beers, including "Cask of 43". All very solid beers. I did have to go back for 2nd's on "Cask of 43" and Connor Mckeggor.

Every time I am in Indy, this place will be a "must stop and visit".

I loved Hop Normalacy....it's a citra bomb and super crushable. Looking forward to the Simcoe....i'm sure I'll be there tomorrow around opening time.

Thought Normalacy was good, though a bit light for me. Would rate on the Gumballhead side of the quaffability index though. The Thai Me Tea, I need to try again when I haven't just crushed a ton of Mexican food and an entire bottle of hot sauce; I was getting the smoothness from the tea but was struggling to find flavor. As said, though, on a few occasions I've drowned myself in hot sauce before getting to Deviate and it's typically destroyed my palate, so I will weigh in further here on a subsequent visit. Chocolate Milk was really good. Cinnamex was my shit. I loved Dragon's Lair; Cinnamex has more complexity flavorwise with the additional adjuncts but is lighter on the peppers. The cinnamon was especially present. It will likely be my next growler fill...

I didn't try the simcoe Supremacy, will be on the agenda for next time.

Definitely try it again. After tasting the three new ones, it was my growler fill. I agree with you on the Normalacy though. Their fault for setting the bar so high!

Sitting in the parking lot patio right now. For my first stop I opted to go with two flights.... Everything on the board for 16.50!!

Two of the beers are cinnamon heavy and don't do it for me, certainly a personal preference issue there.. I hate cinnamon in beer or anywhere else.

EVERYTHING else is spot on. Hope they let me get a growler of something to help me through my late start brew day today.

I stopped at Deviate a week and a half ago while on a work trip to Indy. I was looking for something to do and saw this brewery nearby where I was staying and figured 'what the heck, I got an evening to kill'...

Was blown away by the quality of their brews. I had Coffee Cake, Cask of 43, Hop OPulancy and Hop Normalcy. All were very tasty. That Cask of 43 was exceptional! The guys working there were nice and real friendly. Ended up picking up their IPA glass there as well.

A solid brewery that I'll be stopping at every time my work takes me to Indy.
