I thought Canadian Woodie was a bit over the top with the maple syrup.....I'd much rather drink the Dark Grounds.

I disagree with you both. The maple is incredibly divine. Not that I'm complaining, you're just leaving more for me!

You'll have to share it with me, as I agree with you wholeheartedly.

That being said, I popped in this afternoon for a quick pint. MWC1 is out, and MWC2 is on. It's good, very good, but not quiiite as good as MWC1.

Anyone have an updated Tap List? Some friends and I were planning to swing by Friday afternoon on our way up to Purdue.

    Thanks!

Finally made it to Deviate for the first time today. Went with a flight, Canadian Woodie, Dark Grounds, Hop Supremacy, and Scurvy Anti-Venom. Great flight, both stouts and hops were solid. CW was my favorite, maple just never ended.

A bunch of new stuff popped up on the list this weekend. I was only in to quickly get some growlers filled. I only tried the Lemon Meringue; my best comparison would be to Bruery Or Xata, which I love, with the addition of lemon. ABV is 6.6%. Looking forward to drinking a lot of it in the coming weeks...
    • Blood Bath (blood orange berliner)
    • Smoked Pepper Porker (smoked porter w/chipotle)
    • Lemon Meringue Pie (golden ale w/cinnamon and lemon)

I made it in Saturday evening, got to try those as well. I really enjoyed the Blood Bath and Lemon Meringue Pie. BB was lightly tart, lots of citrus flavor. LMP was also nice, lemon on the front and slight cinnamon on the finish. Smoked Pepper Porker wasn't my jam, but I typically don't go for peppers in beer. Chipotle was too much for me.

The maple is gone :slight_frown: Was glad I got in Friday for one last pour though. The Citrus pale ale with habaneros (Scurvy Venom) is on point. Was also thrilled to find the return of a peanut butter porter ("Damn Skippy") to the board. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Blood Bath (berliner) is fantastic; noticed a ton of people doing 16oz pours of it.

New "Midwest Coast" IPA on. I'll paraphrase Mike, F*** Sam Adams. We use 5lbs of hops per barrel.

Agree with comments above. The Smoked Pepper Porker is spicier than the Scurvy Venom. Scurvy Venom is very balanced. Additionally, Damn skippy has more peanut butter flavor than the prior peanut butter porter from a few months ago.

Stopped in this afternoon to try the new RIS, Milk of Paradise. Russian Imperial Stout with coconut and coffee added. Really enjoyed it. Flavors go together really well, with coffee much lighter than Dark Grounds. Took a growler of this and Hop Supremacy home, looking forward to the weekend!

Wow, great visit on Friday night. The list is incredible right now...

The Rye PA with Blackberries is really good. Milk of Paradise was fantastic. The Midwest Coast Supremacy is back on as well. Key Lime Pie had just gone on the board too and it's easy drinking and excellent.

We brought some friends who had never been and they were thrilled; a common occurrence. We've introduced many to Deviate and there hasn't been a single instance where someone we've brought has been less than thoroughly impressed.

I visited Friday after work and had another great experience. Got growler fills of Milk, MWC, and Key Lime Pie. Unfortunately I came down with some kind of funky illness that prevented me from finishing the growlers this weekend....but that gives us some things to enjoy this week!! I just need my throat issue to clear up.

Sounds like they recently opened up the Club to new memberships. I jumped on it while there last night. Greg mentioned them bottling a Brandy barrel aged Scottish ale here in the next month which would be exclusive to Club members. How could I say no?

Also, the Milk of Paradise is drinking phenomenally. Took a growler of Stinky Fingers home with me, as well.

New beer up last night -- Liquid Handcuffs, milk stout w/coffee and vanilla. Definitely looking forward to giving it a go.

Last Friday night I was in, and Greg pulled an early pitcher out of a new RIS w/Chocolate. It was a chocolate bomb! I barely got any of the few ounces he gave me because my wife stole it all....but really looking forward to when that hits the board. I believe he said they did the same beer with peppers as well that is on the horizon, and I'm a sucker for those too. Nothing but good things happening at Deviate, as usual.

Any other news on the Brandy barrel aged scotch ale they're bottling soon? I haven't been in in 2 weeks. Plan on stopping in tomorrow.

I stopped in yesterday for a couple growler fills and enjoyed a pint of Liquid Handcuffs. It was delicious. These guys are just killing it....
