I don't know, it doesn't taste like armpits and onions this year, which is fine by me.

I couldn't agree more about their imperial stout. So readily available, reasonable price, and delicious. All win.

Like this years Devil Dancer even better than last year. Not quite as boozy but still high octane. Had a burn last year that I didnt detect now. No prob spending the $$ the one time of year I can find it much like Hopslam.

Correction, the Devil Dancer was $7.00 a bottle. apologies for the error. Blame it on my lifelong poor math skills.

Kinda bummed that folks in MI still can't grab it.

It's been on shelves in TX for almost a week.

I think DD is awesome this year, and I've been drinking it since 2008. I find it sufficiently hoppy with an incredible malt base. Read: malt. A beer that is 12% must have massive malts to achieve that ABV, so the hops can only be so prevalent. Another example: Dark Horse's Double Crooked Tree.

I am beginning to think that IPAs have become so crazy/popular in the past several years that whenever a label says "IPA" people expect nothing but hops.

I find it is just as overpriced and underwhelming as ever.

Personally I hope the price stays ridiculous, and the quality stays where it is, so it will be that much easier to push it out of the local market, along with Double Trouble, GUBNA, Resin, and all the other above-average-at-best and stupidly overpriced IIPA's the big boys have gotten used to foisting on us.

Fresher, better, cheaper, and local is gonna be the mantra for IIPA in the future, and all of us will win with that.

I hope so. It's gotten to the point where I only drink IPAs when I make the trip up to HF and the Alchemist. If I split the gas with other people, per ounce HT's cheaper than buying a case of Double Trouble on a per ounce basis lol.

I had no idea I paid $20 for the 4-pack (in Dover, NH) until I saw this thread and went and took a look. I have been pleased with recent Founders stuff (especially Double Trouble) so would have paid it even had I noticed. I found it pretty easy to drink for a 12%. I may buy one more 4-pack to keep in my beer fridge to share with friends (the very close friends who I also share my Heady Topper with).

    25.95 at Biercraft in Brooklyn or 7.99 a bottle--pass.
Whole Foods is only selling single bottles for 5.99, I'll grab a couple so I can try it.

I've enjoyed the two bottles I've had so far this year. A very extreme beer but actually nicely balanced.. Big sweet malts and finishes with a big bite to it. I'll be keeping one on the side to try next year to compare. Is it overpriced? Maybe to some but it's obviously not a cheap beer to make and is very limited. I can think of several beers that cost the same or more and aren't as good imo

Double Trouble should be tap only, try on tap it's great. It's a joke in bottles. Devil Dance well it's a freaking insane beer and the variance from batch to batch is huge. If the price scares you pass, but if it doesn't give it a few tries adn see it after a few months on it. I like it
