This might be actually pretty good. What's next? Beers with eggs?

Lefty's Brewing Company out of Greenfield, MA actually has been making a beer like this for at least the last 2 years. It's called "Big Brekkie" Breakfast Stout and is brewed coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, maple syrup, and bacon. I believe the brewer adds the bacon as if dry-hopping. And it's available in bottles and draft, and even a barrel-aged version on draft.

Ooh, I'd buy that in a heartbeat. What CA brewery do you think could do them justice? I'd love to see Lagunitas or The Bruery try it.

I live in scrapple central, but I've never once tried it.

I love scrapple. Not sure I would love it in a beer, but on the side? Hell. Yeah.

I am a huge DFH fanatic, to me, Sam walks on water! This surprised me though, but, then again it fits with his philosophy. Everything else he touches, he would say they, because he is about team, like Midas, has turned to gold. I will withhold judgement till I get a go at it. If it flops, in my book, he has many many gimmes chalked up!

Looking forward to drinking this while destroying a pork roll egg and cheese sandwich topped with cheese whiz and Texas wiener sauce, while playing quoits.

Gotta be better than Hog Maw Stout, or Chitlin' Stout.

I'm outside of Philly, so it wouldn't be to much of a drive, but that's work day....

FWIW, scrapplephobia people make me laugh.

Seriously. If this was a Rogue beer we'd have a 10 page thread calling them gimmicky sellouts.

I grew up on scrapple and would love to make it down there to try this! @MCBrigno is right, that Lefty's Big Brekkie is pretty much this beer with bacon instead of scrapple--they even both use Massachusetts maple syrup.

The easy majority of people who eat scrapple regularly have no idea how to get and prepare the good stuff right.
