Oh hell YES! At least to the Taylor Pork Roll, delicious with egg on Italian bread, or just by itself!!!! Jersy Mike's made it down here many years ago, finally, still working on decent Pizza!

Cheers from the real Jersey Shore!

Yeah because this would be the first weird beer DFH has ever made.

Jesus Christ so many closed-minded people in here. Calling it disgusting and you haven't even tried it yet. Get a grip. Take Dock Street Walker as an example, brewed with goat brains and tastes like a roasty stout. You think you'll taste the scrapple? Guess again. Go back to drinking your Schlitz.

I'd love to try it and is making me crave some scrapple. One of the things I love about DFH is their creativity at their brewpub. They are constantly churning out stuff, unlike most brewery taphouses (or at least here in MD). I hate going to a brewery or taphouse and the only stuff on tap being what they release regularly in bottles.

Spicy Rapa is the best you can get at the supermarket, though scrapple is one of those things you simply have to get made fresh, preferably by the Amish.

What's next? Egg roll beer? Feel like they are really reaching far and striking out lately. (61, Rosabi)

Rosabi was the shit. I mean I understand If you don't like wasabi but that was one of the most memorable bottles from this year.

"Ew, there's what parts of the pig in there? no way." The same person goes back to eating their hot dog. Ignorance is bliss.

hatred of Souse is more understandable. But I've at least tried it before judging it as terrible.

This brewery has a more then solid track record and as they say, don't judge a book by it's cover. I would never make a statement like that without trying it first (that is brewery dependent of course).

Slice it into about 1/4" to 1/2" thick slices. Pan fry on both sides until crispy. Top with Apple Butter, have it along side your eggs and toast.

My point was that when Rogue makes some a beer with some gimmicky ingredient everyone shits on them for it, but when DFH or one of BA's other "do no wrong" darlings does it, (almost) everyone praises them.

I think that is because DFH doesn't bottle their most ridiculous stuff. It's just small batch brewpub stuff that most people just grab a sample of (5 at a time is how they do it there). People kind of expect it from DFH, but it's almost always draft-only at their brewpub. I think that's coupled with the fact that most people don't seem to drink a lot of Rogue (I sure don't, but they mostly only have big bottles available here). Personally, I don't know much about them but their stuff seems expensive and old, at least around here. Some of their stuff sounds good, but in light of everything else available, I'll pass. At the end of the day, this beer release is just quirky and has no effect on DFH's main operation. Very few people will get to try this, but I can't wait to hear what they think about it.

Maybe this thread hasn't gotten a lot of exposure because it's in a regional forum. If it was a Rogue bottled release like @gillagorilla said then it probably would have been posted in the Beer Releases forum.

When I made my initial comment it was posted in either Beer Talk or Beer Releases. I hadn't even noticed it was moved until you pointed it out.

Scrapple is delicious on its own. Anyone who eats hot dogs and hates on scrapple is a hypocrite. Sounds like DFH is going for their own version of MBCP. I would try it.
